August 28, 20195 yr Author I am not trolling. I genuinely don't understand as it sounds as if he was born here and moved to France. So he's a British Citizen then and can come back to live without permission.
August 28, 20195 yr Wrong. If you live abroad and come back, you cannot claim benefits. Yes, this is right. At least for three months, and most people aren't out of work for longer than that anyway. See here (the link says 'if you're from the EU, but this applies to anyone arriving from the EU, regardless of nationality or whether they were in the UK before they were elsewhere in the EU). You can still have the right to stay in the UK with a British passport, but you can't claim any welfare.
August 28, 20195 yr Well I feel sorry for you but rules are rules I'm afraid. This will be a fun one to come back to when the Tory dictatorship cuts any and all benefits and sends all non British citizens and those who weren't born here back home. Edited August 28, 20195 yr by TheJüpreme
August 28, 20195 yr Author That seems fair to me. You've started a life outside the UK then suddenly, when it suits you or everything there goes tits up, you decide to come back and the taxpayer has to support you. Edited August 28, 20195 yr by Trump2020
August 29, 20195 yr Chris, seeing as you don't pay taxes or contribute anything to the system, I'd say your opinions on this are superfluous.

You've started a life outside the UK then suddenly, when it suits you or everything there goes tits up, you decide to come back and the taxpayer has to support you. Wow. Seen it all now :drama: You really aren't in any position to be calling people out on why they might need to apply for / receive welfare considering that's you in a nutshell. You literally scrounge by in life spending taxpayer money, so don't be such a condescending prick.
August 29, 20195 yr This rules right, was brought in by Cameron to make him seem tough on Eu migrant but I see this everyday in work in the housing authority - people who've went to america/Australia and come back 20 years later and have nothing to live on even though they have a UK or Irish passport.
August 29, 20195 yr That seems fair to me. You've started a life outside the UK then suddenly, when it suits you or everything there goes tits up, you decide to come back and the taxpayer has to support you. This is cruel. Surely you understand the hypocrisy here? You should be more concerned about how Boris will view your welfare in post-no-deal Britain.
August 29, 20195 yr What else does the UK exist for if not to take care of its citizens in turbulent periods of their lives? Expatriates being repatriated and supported during that should be desirable.

Until then, you can f*** right off! 😁🖕
August 29, 20195 yr So people from the UK aren’t allowed to come back to their home country but all immigrants in the UK must go back to their home country as we shouldn’t support them Makes a lot of sense...
August 29, 20195 yr This is cruel. Surely you understand the hypocrisy here? You should be more concerned about how Boris will view your welfare in post-no-deal Britain. His good friend Boris won't let anything happen to him.

Get your facts right. I left school aged 16 on a Friday and started work in an office on the next Monday and worked for 22 months. So don't say I have NEVER worked.

You’re getting pretty upset for someone who has told a British citizen they can’t have the same rights as you just because they were living in France.

Let's get our facts straight then.... You haven't contributed to the system for the VAST MAJORITY of your adult life. You've taken and taken. Yet you seem to think it's fair that someone who perhaps DID work in the UK for a number of years before spending time working abroad(for any number of reasons, e.g. better prospects, more money etc) deserves to be entitled to nothing upon their return whilst you continue to take. If thats the case then it's incredibly difficult to look at you as anything other than blinkered, selfish and dare I say spiteful. Or just a troll. Probably all. Edited August 29, 20195 yr by mald487
