The sales topic is closed but OCC says that

"Rod’s 10th UK chart-topping album extends reign at the top for a third week, notching up 47,500 chart sales."

When was the last time two consecutive No1s dropped out of the Top 40? Or could River hold up better than Christmas records normally do next week?
There is no huge reaction on social media, so again as I said before record companies aren't interested in the U.K. chart, it's like getting a bad mark at school on a subject you're not planning to do at University

This really isn't true - obviously less people are interested than before but labels are still VERY much interested in the UK chart, look at Mariah's big promotional push in the UK this year for example! Her label wanted that #1 and worked for it.

I was wondering the same. Ellienis a fairly big uk artist so her airplay may increase with the no1 news although I'm not sure how Amazon works and whether 'River' is only on Christmas playlists?

It's never happened before, only one #1 had ever dropped out of the Top 40 before Ladbaby (3 Lions)

The video streaming chart is pretty suspicious, Kworb has Mariah getting double her nearest competitor on youtube over Christmas and Christmas Eve

Then, if that's the case, they should complain for having been beaten by Alexa's passive system.

Personally I don't stay silent about things I think are important

And they might not be staying silent, but labels don't tend to go public with this sorta thing...

It's looking like KWS and Erasure is the correct answer to my question. There were lots of 70s covers that reached no.1 in the late 90s and early 00s but I couldn't find any that were back to back.

Where did you see that Joyride?

Mariah is love, Mariah is Life's twitter feed is a great value tonight

Seen someone ask a good question on twitter... how many number ones have we had this decade that weren’t available on Spotify when released?

Maybe a couple of the charity ones..? But even they usually are available to stream

Mariah's team have vowed to get answers.

YES!! Where did you see this?!

This is the end of the occ. Corrupt af.

I've been saying for ages that streaming has ruined the charts and I get dismissed, now this has happened to Mariah Carey and you're all saying the charts are fixed and a joke. Oh, the hypocrisy. This has made my day.
They are corrupt towards Mariah. They have even cheated her video streams! Unbelievable.

It's not streaming that people are complaining about, it's mostly the 3 year ACR rule and Amazon literally forcing River down people's throats via Alexa.

For the record, the top 40 without Christmas songs:

And I'd take a guess at #40 being New Dior by DigDat, though a song on ACR could fall between the few hundred sales separating Sigala and DigDat.

I can't tell you how many times I had to skip that bloody song these last two days!! Complete chart manipulation. It was on every 20 minutes.

You lot wanted streaming and all the nonsense that comes with it, such as, ratios, ACR and SCR. A sale is a sale.
You want a chart based entirely on a medium that increasingly no one uses, pipe down x
