December 28, 20196 yr Someone mentioned regarding sales as far as I can see MW have not published them online, which seems pretty odd since they have uploaded the latest charts. I can't see the point of opening the thread topic until we get the sales from MW, for the sake of repetitiveness, no one wants to read a 8 page thread when sales have not been posted, some of the comments have already been said in here and in the The Mysterious 'Jukebox Heaven" thread topic by Jay. Topic here http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=229278 Yes it does seem odd the sales have not dropped yet, probably its been put on hold for some reason, there could be a discrepancy, or they have not been written due to staff holidays or someone forgot to flip a switch at the other end to make it active. I'm leaning towards the latter, just needs someone to flip a switch :drama: I'm afraid patience is what is required. They will be posted ASAP once they are online. I bet someone will read this, and goes and flips a switch <_<I think it's simply that none of the editorial staff have got around to uploading the sales reports as yet. I assume someone will be back in the MW offices on Monday so they should be uploaded then, at the latest. Strangely the Chart Pack for last week was uploaded on Boxing Day at 8.55pm so someone must have been working at some point over the Christmas holidays. I was hoping the one for this week might have been uploaded last night but it hasn't been. It's unusual though as MW don't normally publish the Chart Pack over Christmas and New Year.
December 28, 20196 yr Incredible that a song has gone to #1 just through being on one streaming site. I am expecting it to happen more in the future with 'Amazon Original' songs and perhaps even other streaming site exclusive songs too.
December 28, 20196 yr acr applies only to the main singles chart. And also I don't think the streaming chart takes into account the free/paid streaming split, as Stormzy is ahead of Ellie on the streaming chart without ACR being a factor. Edit: I was wrong Edited December 29, 20196 yr by Rush
December 28, 20196 yr Same with me. It's a lovely song and hope the younger ones here have checked out Joni Mitchell's 1971 original. I very much doubt it. The superior original has been forgotten and it will be only the Ellie version now that will be remembered by most :( Not that its a bad version, its a decent enough cover by Ellie, better than I expected (I find the affectation in Ellie's voice a bit annoying but she uses less of it in 'River').
December 28, 20196 yr Poor Katy Perry couldn't even crack top 20 when she was an Amazon exclusive last year. :( Yeh Amazon has obv grown a lot in the past 12 months.

It is pretty fishy alongside everything else this week, they may be covering their tracks 😮
December 28, 20196 yr R.I.P Official Charts 1952-2015 The O.C.C single-handedly managed to kill them with their obsessive hatred of Mariah. The chart this week is absurd and completely fake. Ellie is behind Stromzy on streaming. She was only available on Amazon, and yet she's supposedly no.1? Yeah. No. Amazon spammed the life out of that lifeless cover as well. The O.C.C didn't bat an eyrlid as it helped them v Mariah, which they were already batting against by splitting her video streams accidentally on purpose.
December 28, 20196 yr ^ I don't think the OCC have anything against Mariah! She's just always going to be struggling when on ACR as do Wham. That said, this chart is going to end up as possibly one of the most remembered due to a combination of what looks like tracking errors for her video with some half-baked cover version bizarrely charting on the Video Streams chart with a video that seemingly doesn't exist, Amazon pushing Ellie's track to the high heavens and also Amazon gaining almost a million new subscribers to their Amazon Prime service in December 2019 due to their Premier League football promotion which has increased by the same amount the number of people who are able to use their Amazon Music streaming service for free with all streams counting as premium streams. Other than that it was all a level playing field... Edited December 28, 20196 yr by Robbie
December 28, 20196 yr I assume the new rules coming in January are related to that programmed streaming Amazon does?
December 28, 20196 yr I assume the new rules coming in January are related to that programmed streaming Amazon does?I don't think the OCC have announced anything as yet. It's just that the OCC are due to make some big announcement in the new year. It may not even be chart related. They've had a few staff changes recently, it could just be something to do with that though they would not usually make a big announcement about something that wouldn't usually interest anyone outside of the OCC itself. Maybe they are going to change their name :P

Other than that it was all a level playing field... I totally agree with all the above. Amazon could do the same again next year with a different act, everything is above board. It all boils down to that cover version, an OCC oversight which they should have seen, in all fairness its the cover version to blame. There are two versions of the AIWFC in the chart, the sales were split, otherwise Mariah would have been at No.1, I don't know why Ellie Goulding is getting so much hate for it on here.
December 28, 20196 yr So did people think the cover was Mariah? The cover doesn't actually appear on YouTube at all, there's no other explanation.
December 28, 20196 yr And also I don't think the streaming chart takes into account the free/paid streaming split, as Stormzy is ahead of Ellie on the streaming chart without ACR being a factor. That’s not right - Ellie is #10 in the streaming chart, Stormzy is #20.
December 28, 20196 yr Some of y’all arguments are just going in circles  The OCC aren’t going to do anything 🤷♂️
