I got an email from work today reminding me I need to register and then submit my new residency card to them.

Gonna need to negotiate a document of proof of employment first to take with me to the appointment- whenever Berlin give me it. They’ve promised to make it happen by the end of 2021 but with Berlins track record that could be 2025

Tim Burgess has an excellent article on this in the Independent today.

Johnson was asked about the arrangements for musicians at his appearance before the Liaison Committee today. He claimed that they could work for 90 days in any 180-day period. This is simply not true. Either he was lying or he hasn't got a clue what is in the deal he has just signed.

Do you expect him to know every minute detail though? I'd be surprised if he did when there are thousands of pages. No doubt he could look it up if he needed to.

I expect him to know the difference between arrangements for holiday makers and arrangements for people wanting to work in the EU. It is a very basic part of the agreement. If you think it is OK foreven the person in charge of it to have no idea about any of the detail, why were you so relaxed about it being rushed through parliament in a few hours? What do you think of the fact that Jack Mogg has effectively ordered the committee that would have scrutinised it in the coming months to be disbanded?

It's not some obscure detail, it's literally the biggest thing that was affected by Brexit. If he really wasn't in the know then he would look even more UTTERLY STUPID and unfit for the office.

Chris proving for the 563rd time that everyone involved in the Brexit creation and who voted for it are absolute morons who don't even know the most basic of things :')

We want Brexit, and we want it now — the details which could create decades worth of damage can be arranged later.

Bigger than trade and fishing? No way.

Maybe the country could heal the rift over Brexit if you lot and others on other forums, stopped calling us morons. It's not big it's not clever.

Services are part of trade? It's about 80% of it !

Well yes they are.

Bigger than trade and fishing? No way.

This entire campaign is based on racism and xenophobia (keeping non-Brits out. And how do you do that? By introducing work visas and limiting their stay in the UK. Racism was the biggest catalyst especially since the media have been pushing the 'illegal immigrants are stealing the jobs!!1' narrative on everyone for years) which caused Brexit to become a thing. If you think people care this much about f***ing FISHING then I have bad news for you. And if you think an average entitled racist Brit can tell a difference between a Polish and a Syrian immigrant then I have even worse news : ' )

Sorry I thought he was just on about musicians. Yes I know trade and also people coming here to visit is the most important.

The question was specifically about musicians but the general principle applies to anyone wanting to work in the EU. Johnson, unsurprisingly, either didn't have a clue or just lied. Neither of those explanations is acceptable for a PM.

"The country could heal the rift over Brexit if you stopped calling us stupid for doing stupid things and if we didn't meet you in the middle at all"

"All you have to do is bend over backwards to stroke our egos and reassure us that actually we DIDN'T make a huge mistake EVEN THOUGH YOU WARNED US EVERY STEP OF THE WAY and then we'll let you be friends with us again"

Imagine sticking a knife into someone's back and then backing away and telling others to wait until they heal after which everyone will live happily ever after.

If we've left the EU then surely the same rules should apply as if a musician wanted to go play in Manila or one of theirs comes here?

It's not known yet if it was a mistake or not as we've not been left a month even yet. Ask me again in 5 years if I'm still alive. No one, least of all me, said there won't be teething problems.

These are the restrictions for tourism and he's conflating these with work restrictions. He probably thinks that anyone can hop on a plane and work on Spanish farm for a summer, as you could before the new year. He lived in Brussels for years and yet is absolutely clueless as to what it's like to be a migrant worker, whether it's for British migrants abroad or migrants in Britain (see his total ignorance of what no recourse to pupil funds means, which any MP that actually participates in casework should have direct experience of)
