I actually agree with your very general point about the media but what you fail to realise is that 90% of the time they've benefited the tories and not held them to account for their handling of this crisis, see certain newspapers having that scientist who broke the lockdown rules as it's big headline then buried a failure of the government in a tiny section at the bottom of the page. The Mirror and Guardian are very much in a minority as far as the press goes. The most influential newspapers are right wing.

Yeah, I've not been around as much so don't know the full stories, but what happened for Vidcapper to get banned and Chris to have multiple suspensions, whilst this troll is still going strong?

 

My cousin would have loved to know that, if needed, she could, whilst displaying coronavirus symptoms, travel with her child up to her vunerable grandparents to let them babysit. Would have saved a lot of hassle for her. :)

Well, this is clearly going around in circles. Cummings, the most senior advisor to Johnson, broke lockdown regulations — regulations which 'normal people' have been arrested or fined for. It's really quite simple.

Indeed, and if Cummings is not seen to apologise or indeed suffer consequences for doing so, then it makes a complete mockery of that legislation and gives carte blanche for the public using the justification that they are 'applying their own common sense' to the guidance.

Yeah, the "common sense" thing to do is not let your kids go back to school yet, it's fairly obvious if you ask me (as nowhere will be ready).

My brother is at real risk of dying if he gets Covid-19. He is not going to allow his youngest son (15 yrs old) to go back to school if he doesn't feel it's safe.

 

Johnson has just given him and everyone else permission to do what the f*** they want to and the law can go f*** itself "because he has the interest of his son first". So in that sense, hooray! People can now keep their kids out of school until Covid-19 is sorted and he won;t be able to stop it. What a moron. Totally fails to see the consequences of his own warped logic and fails to realise just how annoyed almost everyone is.

He’s trying to rush the economy back on its feet but has now blown it by sticking up for Cummings. He needs the plebs to send their kids back to school so that they can go back to work. But now acting like a caring parent is an excuse for anything this will bite him on the bum.
