April 24, 20206 yr Rover reminds me a bit of "German". It would be a grower I think on repeated listens.
April 24, 20206 yr If Times Like These went #1 it would be the biggest upset since Ellie beat Mariah in a long time!
April 24, 20206 yr Fair enough I didn't know the last era only had one hit, I wasn't paying much attention to it :kink: Yup, TGAG was the only top ten hit (or hit for that matter) from “The Thrill Of It All” era, thankfully..SS3 came with vengeance. Edited April 24, 20206 yr by Yog
April 24, 20206 yr What even is this Times Like This thing? Was it on First Look? Aghast at this STILL being top 10, has it racked up more weeks top 10 than Sorry yet?
April 24, 20206 yr What even is this Times Like This thing? Was it on First Look? It was released yesterday! Basically a load of celebrities recording bits of the Foo Fighters song from their homes but it got a massive lead on iTunes after the Big Night In (which is quite a feat considering Michael Ball/Tom Moore had a big enough lead themselves)
April 24, 20206 yr What even is this Times Like This thing? Was it on First Look? It was loads of stars covering Times Like These by Foo Fighters that featured on the BBC's Big Night In charity fundraiser last night, the track was only released yesterday afternoon!
April 24, 20206 yr Live Lounge All Stars could have sold enough for #3 I reckon but be very surprised if higher on just a few hours' sales but who knows?!

April 24, 20206 yr Don't forget the audition was recorded before this whole crisis blew up. It wasn't contrived by her. "Dedicating a song" to anyone on any of these reality shows is usually because the song isn't good enough on it's own merit and with the help of the producers playing some piano music, a sob story, shots of audience members looking emotional and a standing ovation they can turn anything into a quick hit. You're also more likely to get on TV and get to the live finals if you do something like this. It would be nice to believe this was all genuine but considering the amount of charity singles released lately it shows that people are using the situation and taking advantage of it to get some success by being 'relatable' and 'look we're one of you!'. It's all super cringey and awkward.
April 24, 20206 yr Well at least iTunes is still relevant then and makes for the odd chart surprise here and there. Nice for a more inspired choice of song too for a change. Say So is beyond boring now...
