Have you tried the face shield? Sometimes people who can't wear masks can wear those :)

No I haven't.

Pasta strainer would be a much better look tbh
keep trollin’

It's called having your own opinion. That's what happens in a democratic country.

Next step - maybe actually defending them and not logging off as soon as people start asking questions and having a proper discussion. Provoking a reaction without any intent to have a discussion is the definition of trolling.

That was quite a narcissistic comment from you. I don't mind having a proper discussion on here with you, but if you're going to start labelling people something that they are not then don't be surprised if I'm not going to pay too much attention to what you say.

Now can you get back on topic please, it's not all about you.

ah yes, stuttering that Britain has more cases than Germany and Italy because it's a FREEDOM-LOVING COUNTRY and the government will hear no criticisms of its chaotic test and trace system or its arbitrary rules on who you're allowed to spend time with thank you very much.

Very 'positive and firm' stuff.

I was referring to Boris's speech last night. I believe Boris now has got into the groove of being Prime Minister which is incredible really after having to deal with a pandemic in his first full calendar year as PM.

France's cases are more than double than the UK's atm, d'ya wanna talk about that too.

Has anyone seen some evidence of panic buying this week? I went to a supermarket not that far from where I live yesterday evening to do some shopping and a lot of the pasta/spaghetti section was empty, the canned tomato sections were almost empty as well which brought back some bad memories from earlier in the year. The toilet rolls were still intact though but I'm suspecting by the end of the week it will be a lot more obvious if panic buying has returned.

I haven't seen any evidence yet, but I suspect it will start happening. I'd probably say it was quite wise too to have a little extra in with Brexit looming.

Anyway the good news is, it appears as if the Government will be adopting something along the lines of France/Germany retention scheme, which will allow for workers who can to work some of their hours and have the rest topped up by the Government. This is needed for me as I just cannot see how we go a full 6 months without having to shut the leisure/hospitality sector for a small period of time at least.

I am not smug at all. It is simply a fact that I have panic attacks and it's a risk to wear one. Why not answer my question about your bank? Would I get a charge?

Genuine question...what does wearing a flimsy mask have to do with panic attacks? How does it trigger them? I'm not saying you don't suffer from panic attacks in general but what is it about a little cloth over your mouth and nose that causes them? I keep seeing so many people say this but if you're only wearing it for a few minutes in a supermarket or for a short bus journey are you saying you really can't do that?

Poor Boris having to deal with a pandemic his first year of being PM! ...which is also something like his 20th year in government at the age of his late 50s.

It's not like literally every other world leader was set the same task.

I wonder what happens when something more serious occurs. Someone who was put in charge of leading a country isn't ALLOWED to make excuses for anything.

Prepared speeches are one thing, I think it's also good to have coherent answers prepared for questions you get asked if you want to show confident leadership.

I have no context for any of the reasons about France's recent rise in cases, I do for the UK. Don't deflect.

f*** the whataboutery, where did France come from. The question was about Italy and Germany both of whom are not seeing the same escalation in cases that the UK, France and Spain have.

Mentioning France relies on facts not in evidence, stick to the question asked Peacemob

I have a perforated septum (not from you know what ) which I don’t exactly want to disclose but I’ve been trying to wear masks and it’s just not good for me... so breathing through my nose is hard enough for me. Coupled with the fact I wear glasses... I still wear masks in supermarkets but I’m going back to work and genuinely considering just quitting because I can’t stand up for 8 hours out of breath and blind lol... people have noticed my change in breathing when I wear a mask just for a short space of time

I absolutely cannot stand the amount of people on the whole side of 'the rules are shite, I'll do what I want.' I was meant to see my parents for the first time since January, on Monday, the last time being for my grans funeral, the pandemic happened and then my work reopened, so Monday was the next best opportunity with having a holiday from work. Am I annoyed yes. Have I followed all the rules and regs? Yes. And then all the while plenty of people break the rules during lockdown and meet for drinks in houses etc... People refusing to wear a mask 'because were not meant to breathe in carbon dioxide' like I'm sorry what? How is that even a thing? Absolute rude people coming into my work if you even suggest them to wear a facemask. Like I honestly don't see what the big deal is? If you have breathing difficulties, then fine, don't wear one or wear a face shield but I don't know man. I just feel like half the population have behaved like children, stamping their feet whenever the government give some new rules and then when everyone gets sent to their room, there's outcry because 'the government doesn't know what it's doing'. I've always just felt that if people listened in the first place, we wouldn't be in this position now.

I'm sorry this post is messy and probably doesn't even make sense, but I'm so frustrated and have so many things to say 😂

Regarding the glasses problem, I have learned to accept the fact that it is what it is and these days I don't even notice the fog :') I know a hack that involves soapy water which leaves a barrier that doesn't allow glasses to get foggy but I haven't tried this one out yet. Also I'm sure there are sprays for this.

Apparently rubbing a thin layer of toothpaste (non abrasive) and wiping off with iamspamspamamiroll or something to that effect, is good for stopping your glasses steaming up too.

EDIT - Oh damn I forgot about the filter for that word.

Putting your mask right up to just below the eye and having the glasses over the fabric stops fog in my experience :magic:

My friend does that as well in work. I've never seen her glasses steam up since she's started doing it ☺️
