I think so, yes. Should have been debated in Parliament. MP's have never given permission for a Tier 4 at all.

I don't agree that he is a rat though. Rats are vermin and carry disease.

I fail to see the difference.

Carry disease, you mean like he did when he "shook hands with everybody" while riddled with COVID-19?

Vermin is actually very apt.

It's a pretty minor rule break (she didn't wear a mask at a funeral whilst maintaining a 2m distance) but this isn't a good look. Speaking as a member of the SNP, the Scottish handling of this really hasn't been much better than that in RUK bar the PR.

Having said that I bet Bojo and his cronies have done much worse many times.

Also I bet more people ignored it than the first one. I honestly don't know what the answer is. Despite the daily figures people are fed up and many will put seeing their families first this Christmas. Wife's employers are leaving Tier 4 to go to his parents in Tier 2 after a long time agonising over it. I don't blame them at all.

If they say that they are going there to look at potentially buying the property they will be fine.

House viewings are inexplicably still allowed in Tier 4: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/tier-4-stay-at-home

Estate Agents are of course still open because they are ESSENTIAL.

Estate and letting agents and removals firms can continue to work. If you are looking to move, you can go to property viewings.

Gosh, what could have happened in September to make that absolute valley zoom right back up again...?

Opening schools as a trial, fine, but they should have closed them by October. I've said it before, the government should have just agreed to write off this year academically instead of persisting with this absurd halfway house in which students who got covid or were exposed to covid and had to self-isolate - maybe multiple times - were punished by losing access to education, while only those who managed to dodge it were able to pick up a proper education.

And that's hoping their parents or family members didn't get it and weren't as a result taken ill and completely spun the kids' lives out of control, as happened to my aunt who caught it off her kids from school and as a result was in an induced coma for a month in ICU.

She of course was very vocal about Dominic Cummings' transgressions, and made her own advisor resign over hers, so not a good look at all. One rule for the elites, one rule for the plebs and all that jazz.

Cue the whattabouterry.

Well of course they should be. If you had a tenancy contract running out in the next 3 months you shouldn't be forced to sign another annual contract (that's what the bast*rd agents do in London, force you to sign another year or else pay a massive penalty). I had to do the latter when leaving my last contract but honestly I'd have paid twice the amount to get out of that shithole.

And then there's the people in shared accom who have been living with hellish flatmates the whole year.

That said I do see estate agents offices quite busy when I'm on my daily cycle. I fail to see why so many people are needed there in person but I'm sure they have their reasons.

Two members of staff from my school have tested positive since we broke up. Apparently test and trace haven’t finished contacting everyone so I’m absolutely praying I do not get contacted today or tomorrow. I was distanced from everyone last week so I hope I’m in the clear but I’m terrified of being alone on Christmas Day after a phone call telling me to self isolate.

Fingers crossed. I’ve been getting paranoid about developing symptoms and forcing the children in my class from last week into isolation over Christmas.

Oh come on, are you seriously comparing taking off your mask for a second when you're away from people to travelling halfway up the country after you've been tested positive?

no worries, you're only contagious from 24 hours (48 hours max) prior to having the first symptoms

meaning even if you get symptoms now, you were not contagious last week

The deputy first minister of Northern Ireland got criticised for a funeral rule break too of course, but that was arguably a worse breach of the rules even though she wore her mask as it involved being at a funeral where there were big crowds on the streets. Yeah what Nicola Sturgeon did was a minor rule break indeed but yes she is right to apologise, just because you are over 2m away doesn't mean you don't have to wear a mask , especially with the new strain which is around at the moment.

That’s what I was thinking

Of course what Sturgeon did wasn't *objectively* as bad as other political transgressions but if you're a leading figure and especially one that has been vocally preaching the rules then you have to follow such rules to a tee else you lose credibility.

But I am in absolute no doubt that will pale in comparison to what the English elite will get caught doing over the Christmas period.
