Any idea which kind of retailers are missing from Monday's update for albums?

Last week two days of Amazon sales were missing if I'm not wrong!

Why do people keep saying this  I really don’t know who would give a CD as a gift now? It’s not 2004, even cars don’t have CD players now.

The casual sale is dead and buried. CD’s are bought purely by fans and collectors (Adele being the slight exception)

Vinyl is making a splash with the younger crowd, but it’s still a niche market at the moment.

Of course CD gifting is far less popular than it was, but it's not over. And Adele isn't just an "exception", it proves that there are casual listeners out there who still listen to CDs. Not everyone uses streaming services.

If people had completely stopped buying CDs as Christmas presents, the physical market wouldn't have been 834,833 last week that's for sure.

Yeah I know someone from work who bought a physical copy of = for her car so she could listen to it when she’s driving as she can’t connect her phone. So that’s another example I guess
I’ve done the same for my wife got her the Adele and Westlife cd to listen to in her car!

I'm sorry :( I didn't realise that you and your wife were having such marital problems :(

It must be an age thing, I don’t think anyone under 40 would be pleased to receive a CD for Christmas. Or even have anything to play the CD on.

I’m 30 and the last time I got a CD for Christmas was 2010.

As a 24 year old I'd like to clarify that most of what I asked for for Christmas was CDs :magic: but obviously I'm more of the exception than the rule.

(shockingly, I even asked for a DVD!)

I’ve been asking for a few DVDs as well to be fair! I’ve got a few things that aren’t on streaming that I want to watch  and I’d rather pay for a physical copy than a digital one.

The last cd I've bought is Love for Sale and the one before was Chromatica.

I used to collect cds by a few artists but these days it's only Gaga. (And only one copy of course, I don't get why I'd buy several with indentical content)

I very rarely buy CDs these days but I've got about 1000 of them that I've bought over the years and I can't bear to get rid of them, so I make sure to play them whenever I'm in the car (my car still has a CD player).
All of mine are up in a box in the loft now. I still have things with a disc slot I could play them through of course but never feel the need with Spotify Premium (and long before that my iPod), I wouldn't want to get rid of them altogether though, far too many childhood memories.

Don’t worry I don’t listen to it and always slag her for how shite Westlife are 😅

That’s the same with me, we also have a small cd collection in the spare room (Beside the record player/vinyl) and a small cd/radio player. I rarely use it though! I can’t bare to throw them out though as you say due to the memories!

I bought my mum five CD's for Christmas - from Amazon, that's what she asked for. Lots of people still gift CD's for friends and family.

Only 33 here and not only would I like CDs as gifts, I’ve bought some as gifts to other under 40s this year.
