Definitely with guitar pop, grime x3 and house as well.

Grime? No grime in the chart for years now! Must be deemed uncool now :(

There isn’t a single grime track in the top 10

Arer we really splitting hairs on the difference between grime and whatever D Block are?

Biography

Bursting on to the scene in 2014, at just 18-years-old Ella Henderson went on to achieve global success with her debut single, ‘Ghost.’ Co-written with Ryan Tedder, the song became the fastest-selling debut single from any British Artist in 2014. That same year, Ella’s debut album, ‘Chapter One,’ (Salaam Remi, Babyface, Steve Mac, TMS) spawned her first Platinum selling album, making her one of only 3 UK artists to break Platinum in 2014. A revered artist, in 2015 Ella received two prestigious BRIT Award nominations for 'Best British Female' and 'Best British Single', rounding off the year with a landmark sell-out UK headline tour, which included two shows at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Following a whirlwind few years, Ella returned to the studio to being work on her next project. During the process she continued to collaborate with some of the biggest names in music, appearing on hits produced by superstar DJ’s Kygo and Sigma. She also returned to the live stage, touring with the likes of Take That, James Arthur and Rudimental, the latter of whom signed her to a new record deal with their label Major Toms/Asylum. For Ella, this marked a brand new start. “I want it to be fresh,” says the 23-year-old. “The industry's changed so drastically since I last released music over four years ago. I want to embrace that. I want to treat everything like it's a clean slate.” - Spotify

Go eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeasy on me!

Edited by TheSnake

I hope it turns out that this would have outsold Shivers in the end had that been reset too, and is therefore #1 under the old rules. The charts should be about who the public want there not the record companies.
If only you were head of the OCC, eh?

They should make me head of OCC. there’d be a lot of changes if I was head of OCC

Fake number 1 this week

Yes, if the rumors are true. Shivers actually returned to no.1 and not Easy On Me. We'll know once the sales figures are announced.

1.5k CDs in this week's total for Sam, which didn't make a single bit of difference to his chart position oops

Glad they added them this week as it could have made a difference - they probably know that getting to #1 is not going to happen so better to secure that Top 3 :yahoo:

Why would Adele’s label ask for a reset?

Adele now has the record for most weeks at #1 for a Uk female artist. Also means a guaranteed top 10 single until Oh My God picks up steam. Smart from the label but I also would have preferred they left it.

So please WDTAB has blown up like it has, such a catchy song. Totally understand why it sounds odd to those who haven’t watched the film or even the scene. Big highlight from the film. Also pleased for Surface Pressure. Vocals do weaken it slightly but production is great and very relatable lyrics. Seen a lot of comments online from people impacted by the songs themes and relating to that sense of pressure from family/friends/work etc.

Suprised Ed being the chart geek he is didn't get shivers reset and do a chart double, shame poop Gayle probably her only shot

Shivers isn't his current single so he couldn't

Oh now everyone is against shitty chart moves, but as of now adele and ed sheeran were well deserved to be stuck at no1….. those artists killed the charts- EOS
Shivers isn't his current single so he couldn't

Ah I see it has to be the current single

I personally would have thought fairer if they just did the regular chart rules - 25% increase means an instant reset and that's that. Too many exceptions makes a bit of a mockery. But don't blame the record companies at all (on this occasion lol) blame OCC.

If they did that we'd have had the following resets this week:

Heat Waves

MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)

good 4 u

Kiss My (Uh Oh)

Black Magic

Remember

OUT OUT

Heartbreak Anthem

Blinding Lights

Levitating

Kiss Me More

Head & Heart

Friday

Which is a much more stale list than that we got this week so I'm not too bothered, as much as I do think abcdefu was somewhat robbed of a #1.

I agreed the chart would have been staler but it would have followed the rules and been fairer. There would have been lots of movement of fresh tracks anyhow - Encanto, Acraze, DML etc..
