September 20, 20223 yr Didn’t think Rina would be on the 10k mark so fair play. Top 4 should break 10k which is excellent - Thought Marcus Mumford would have done better but he isn’t getting much radio support!
September 20, 20223 yr They played a surprise, secret gig under a pseudonym a couple of weeks ago at a small venue in London to debut new tracks from this album. They played the whole of the album. Sadly, I wasn't there :( They are known as 'The London Suede' in America. There is an obscure folk singer in the US who calls herself Suede. Hence the different name (although Brett and Mat are from Haywards Heath).

Why the inverted commas around pop? :kink: Re: all Asian top 2s I don't think there are even very many #1 albums by Asian born artists - I can only think of the couple by BTS, one by Yoko Ono alongside John Lennon and I guess technically Cliff Richard, perhaps there are others who were born in India and moved to the UK at a young age (or something similar) but none that I can immediately recall. I'd be fairly confident saying this will be the first all Asian top 2. (And not just among women). edit: Engelbert Humperdinck was also born in India and had one #1 album.

If you're just looking for people born in the continent of Asia then Katie Melua might count. There seems to be no clear answer about whether her country (Georgia) is in Europe or Asia.
