June 7, 20232 yr From the OCC. It's all change at the top in the race for this week's Official Number 1 album, as Foo Fighters edge just ahead of Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, the Official Charts Company can reveal. In one of the most nail-biting chart battles in recent memory, Foo Fighters' latest LP - and their first since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins last March - But Here We Are now sits at Number 1; less than 500 chart unit ahead of closest competitor Noel's record Council Skies, currently at Number 2. I badly want Noel to get the #1. Every studio album he's released (in and outside of Oasis) has made #1 so it would be a real shame if he lost that streak.
June 7, 20232 yr Are Noel or FF dropping prices? Not yet, this appears to be the only activity - https://www.musicweek.com/digital/read/noel...fighters/088001
June 7, 20232 yr Why is the Foo Fighters album cover all white with hard to read words? Is this their equivalent to The Beatles White Album cover? They are 55 years too late!
June 7, 20232 yr Nothing wrong with what Kylie is doing, but there's nothing wrong with Ed/Lewis tactics either. So better to either complain about both or neither rather than pick sides. THIS!!!!!
June 7, 20232 yr Why is the Foo Fighters album cover all white with hard to read words? Is this their equivalent to The Beatles White Album cover? They are 55 years too late! I’m not sure but assume it’s something to do with it being the first release since their band mate passed away?
June 7, 20232 yr I badly want Noel to get the #1. Every studio album he's released (in and outside of Oasis) has made #1 so it would be a real shame if he lost that streak. In general it’ll be the first Gallagher studio album not to reach the top spot! That being said, 2023 will likely still have one of the brothers at the top as Liam has just announced that a live recording of his Knebworth 2022 show will release in August.
June 7, 20232 yr In general it’ll be the first Gallagher studio album not to reach the top spot! Do we count Beady Eye in this?
June 7, 20232 yr Getting playlisted doesn't necessarily equate to chart success plenty of artist get Radio 1 A list support and domt perform great on the charts Agreed. Quite a few Number 1 on Radio Airplay songs charts barely scraped into the top 40 singles charts in recent times.
June 7, 20232 yr Nothing wrong with what Kylie is doing, but there's nothing wrong with Ed/Lewis tactics either. So better to either complain about both or neither rather than pick sides. WROOONG!!! Desperate Debby Ed Sheeran is the modern day analogue of Westshite. He rams crpapy nom1s down our throats with his desperate debby tactics. Kylie is just giving a fans a few different options to get a single top ten hit, as she has no radio OR!!! streaming support. Cheesy Fad gets rsdio support, has massive payola, gets mo.1 on all the playlists, even hard rock, grunge and foreign language playlists for no reason... Massively different.
June 7, 20232 yr Do we count Beady Eye in this? No, neither of the two Beady Eye albums made #1. Desperate Debby Ed Sheeran is the modern day analogue of Westshite. He rams crpapy nom1s down our throats with his desperate debby tactics. Is it just me that's getting sick to death of seeing this post rephrased almost daily? Edited June 7, 20232 yr by Mangø

I wouldn't call "no radio support" being #2 on the airplay chart or "no streaming support" being on Hot Hits UK, just hits, etc....
June 7, 20232 yr I wouldn't call "no radio support" being #2 on the airplay chart or "no streaming support" being on Hot Hits UK, just hits, etc.... These were miracles though. Like it does not happen usually for Kylie.
June 7, 20232 yr These were miracles though. Like it does not happen usually for Kylie. Maybe so, but to say that she isn't getting radio and streaming support is untrue.
June 7, 20232 yr Yep, PP has been supported A LOT everywhere, it's really playing the same game than other releases in top 40 so no need to make it as a victim of something.
June 7, 20232 yr No radio or streaming support is laughable, it is on pretty much all the relevant playlists
June 7, 20232 yr Bding like #100 on a relevant playlist is hardly support  And BBC, Capitla etc are only pkaying it in the chadts countdowns ... if that!
