love how everybody lately is doing singles again and it's the best strategy

but there should be a minimum price

99 cents + free shipping is a joke

it's like saying we give them away for free

and obv everybody likes getting things for free

an artists gives away something for 99 cents and free shipping and signed, and sells 30000

the same artist releases a new album and no one gets the vinyl

Foo Fighters have just overtaken Noel and could get #1 on Friday. One of them should’ve released a week early and both would’ve had turns at #1

I knew it was only a matter of time before some people would try to diminish the success of Padam Padam.

At least Kylie didn't have to piggyback on The Weeknd to get back into the top 20.

Would love to see Kylie go top 10 but gotta laugh at the hypocrisy that she getting praised for tactics others get slated for
Nobody is saying artists shouldn’t release a CD single. Absolutely nobody, most of us in fact love to have the chance to own a physical copy. There is a big difference between a £3.99 (£7 with shipping, which IMO is too much) CD for die hard fans and a 99p signed single giveaway! BMG is not losing any money on their strategy, they’re not throwing away profit for a chart position. Kylie has an extended mix and a CD single, it’s not like she has 20 remixes and 6 physical formats inflating her sales. Just stop it, it’s trolling at this point. And I’m just going to say it, it’s incredibly sexist!
I think the people saying it's the same thing as the likes of Ed do are either being willfully ignorant or deliberately obtuse, even though it's been explained numerous times (even in this thread) how it's different

Is Kylie selling 30k fake signed CDs at 99p free shipping like Desperate Debby Ed though? No. So give it a rest

The Ed Sheeran defence squad have seemingly rebranded as the anti-Kylie squad. Wonder why!

From the OCC.

It's all change at the top in the race for this week's Official Number 1 album, as Foo Fighters edge just ahead of Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, the Official Charts Company can reveal. In one of the most nail-biting chart battles in recent memory, Foo Fighters' latest LP - and their first since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins last March - But Here We Are now sits at Number 1; less than 500 chart unit ahead of closest competitor Noel's record Council Skies, currently at Number 2.

Nothing wrong with what Kylie is doing, but there's nothing wrong with Ed/Lewis tactics either. So better to either complain about both or neither rather than pick sides.

Do we know anyone that purchased an Ed Cd that didn't get one otherwise I donf see how it is fake , unless you have concrete proof he didn't sign them it's just your opinion

So basically trolling is only acceptable if its you doing it noted

You have such an odd definition of trolling. I was merely trying to lighten the mood (or break the tension as the Queen herself would say)

THIS

if people read the thread you’ll see I was happily surprised to see a legend like Kylie rising the chart with an original hit in 2023 the only point I make is that releasing cds is legitimate for both despite the price. Yes if the cd was a tenner less will buy but if you want a cd or physical people will generally go online and buy them whether they are 99p or 3.50 but of course like back in the 90s more are likely to buy a cheaper product, it’s basic economies of scale. But of course anyone who highlights this is sexist….

No more lightening the mood that my comment was

The difference is Ed and Capaldi get playlisted and shoved down people's necks with every release.
We're all going to hold contradictory opinions, it's human. Better to just enjoy the music rather than get wrapped up in a battle of which artist or fanbase holds the superior capitalist morals, twisting yourself in knots to try and 'gotcha' the other side.

Getting playlisted doesn't necessarily equate to chart success plenty of artist get Radio 1 A list support and domt perform great on the charts
