#10 is just a re-peak for The Ronettes but still, we love to see it.

Definitely a new peak (since 2016 at least), bodes well for it going Top 20 officially anyway. 'Holly Jolly Christmas' made a new peak of #10 a few weeks ago, so along with Dean Martin reaching #7 and Ariana getting to #4, that's 4 new top 10 Spotify peaks for the Christmas oldies. Will we see any officially though... Noah Kahan at #38 is doing almost 200k more than RAYE on Christmas Eve last year and she ended the week with 43k, so he's looking good for at least 50k and possibly a Top 10 hold... meanwhile 'Mr Brightside' at #130, 24 places higher than (and streams more than 20% above) last year when it dropped to #199 the next day, should be safe to keep its top 200 run going, have to wonder if it'll ever leave at this point.

Its peak is listed as #10 already on Kworb which is a day behind :thinking: (although I see it was listed as #11 on the Spotify website until today so not sure where that discrepancy comes from, seems very unlikely it would have spent a day at #10 before 2017)

I think he's easily the safest bet.

Noah Kahan at #38 is doing almost 200k more than RAYE on Christmas Eve last year and she ended the week with 43k, so he's looking good for at least 50k and possibly a Top 10 hold...

 

I haven’t looked into this - but two things to consider: last year RAYE had two versions of her track that were doing well on streaming. And Christmas is a day later in the week this year. So this may mean Noah doesn’t do as well as you expected.

Ah I knew about the second point so the bar for Top 10 will be higher this year, but I'd forgotten about the sped-up version of 'Escapism' so maybe there won't be as much of a difference between their chart placings (RAYE was #13 last year) as it appeared.

I guess the Boxing Day Spotify numbers will start to give a clearer picture regarding the first chart of 2024. Last year Wham! held on for #1 on Boxing Day with just over 400k but they might have stiffer competition from Noah this year.

‘Last Christmas’ has just beaten Adele’s record (2,801,638) for most streams in one day. 2,889,765!

 

Brenda takes the lead overall, but as the two versions of her song are on different labels, they won’t be combined for chart purposes. And ‘Mr Brightside’ spends another Christmas Day in the top 200.
