Ariana finally reached the Top 10 :cheer: a Christmas miracle! (Which we knew about since Wednesday but still.) The charts continue to produce at least one new Top 10 peak for songs on permanent ACR every year since it began. Great for The Ronettes and Burl Ives breaking into the Top 20 / 40 too.

'Sprinter' is fine. Not something I love or dislike really. 'Flowers' is middle of the pack as far as Miley songs go but incredible to see her bag a UK EOY #1 and of course a long run at #1 as well!

This top 100 has FAR too many old songs and isn't reflective at all of the charts this year but anyway.. thanks for the hard work as always Joseph and throughout the year!

19 new or re-entries in next week's Top 20 singles, that will trump the 18 achieved in January 2023.
I believe Miley is the first solo female to bag the EOY #1 since Adele in 2011 :o we did have Dua and Kimbra as features since then, though.

Of the EOY top 5, 'Miracle' and 'Escapism.' are among my favourite chart hits of the year, 'Anti-Hero' and 'Flowers' I also charted, the former by far my favourite song Taylor has put out over the last 2 years, and thenlatter was always going to top this, well done Miley

Thank you so much Joseph for prepping and hosting this!

Flowers is a good song and undoubtedly a huge moment this year, so a fair #1 even if I'm waaay past my peak enjoyment of it. It's better than Sprinter at least, even if I can't begrudge how huge that was.

All 40 info posts for this week's chart are now live on pages 1-3!!

Thanks everyone so much for taking part today, hope you all enjoyed the thread. Makes the hours of prep worth it!! There's no First Look show on Sunday, so I hope you all have a very Happy New Year! :D

thanks again Joseph for prepping todays thread. great way to round out the year.

I do think the OCC will need to do something about the complete domination of christmas music at some point though, 37/40 this week is more than we’ve ever had and Tate was quite lucky to even stay top 40 :drama:

Miley bagging a year end #1 is huge! First international female since Gaga and Poker Face back in 2009 as well as far as completely solo singles go.

Flowers feels right as the year end #1. It felt huge and was huge and was a huge cultural moment, viral moment and I think the song itself is a lot stronger than what a lot on here do too (it was quite loved by the locals) but even as far as Mileys hits go I’d say it’s amongst her best and I’m a big Miley fan. One of my favourite year end #1s in a long while I think looking back at what some of the year end tracks were.

If someone told me in 2016 that Miley Cyrus, Dave and RAYE would be the year-end top 3 in 2023 I would have been so confused.

Aww Blue Christmas #41 after Joseph did all the work preparing Elvis’ enormous chart history!

I just know I'll get some use out of it one day

One easy solution is to further increase the ACR for songs over three years old.

If a song is good enough it’ll be fine, Noah was still too 10 despite the main Christmas days. Nobody really releases new music at this time of the year so most of the songs are two months old, of course they get squashed by the Christmas songs

Hey Joseph. Mariah's version of "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" has reached a new peak of #58 this week, just one week after achieving a new peak of #80!
Thanks so much for prepping all this Joseph, I know it would have taken a lot of time and hard work, it’s much appreciated! Roll on the 5th of January for stick season to finally get its deserved moment at #1!
What a fantastic year end chart-each song taking me back to unique memories of 2023!
