Honestly out of all these girls, Nehellenia can do it ALL. She was on Italia 2 with one of the most dominant winners Drag Race has ever seen and still held her own, most other seasons she would have won. I’m so excited to see more of her :wub:

Echoing that I'd have put Miranda and Gala in the top (instead of Kween and Vanity). And, as much as I don't really want the US queen to come in and win Global All Stars because it'd be boring, Alyssa really is my favourite of all time and this episode proved exactly why. She's just a RIOT every time she's on screen and I've rarely ever seen a talent show capture someone's brand so perfectly, it was 10/10. Icon icon icon.

 

I can see Kween getting pushed more this series than I feel like I'll agree with though.

I know this is Global stage etc etc and not a lot of people have seen it before, but how many times Kween will do the spin in the air trick during lip-sync lol!!!

Kween is one of those where I think she’s really good at being the in the lane that Drag Race wants, in a way that’s talented but quite predictable. I like her but I don’t expect to be wowed or surprised, I could see a “professional” type edit for her

Just finished the first two episodes and this is honestly so refreshing compared to other All Stars seasons. It's wonderful to see all the different versions of the show coming together and the queens being celebrated and just having a great time. It feels really special, and something I hope they continue (as strong as this has started)!!

 

Alyssa is giving EVERYTHING so far, and I'm already loving Pythia a lot more than I recall appreciating during her original season on Canada. Pretty much all of them are fantastic though, Tessa and Kitty are the only ones that are doing the absolute most and it coming across not so well though. Like Liam says, no idea where this whole persona has come from for Kitty. Rather jarring and off-putting and if it continues can't see myself rooting for her.

Well that lasted two episodes :lol: The editing is really off, but I think it does always feel off with short Ball episodes as there’s so many looks to go through. Maybe as the eliminations start and we get less of the queens there, the ones left will develop and get airtime bc right now we’re not seeing much of anyone as the episodes rush by.

 

Kitty was for me by far the worst along with Soa,and Kween wasn’t great either, but of course they wouldn’t let a Ru girl potentially be first out (Kitty would lose to Kween or Soa I’d have thought). Athena was closer to the top than the bottom for me, absolute madness. Like yeah it was all simple, but there really wasn’t anything wrong with any of her looks, and I think her and Nehellenia both did really well with having a cohesive set of looks that really showed who they are.

 

Saying that “it didn’t feminise you enough” to a drag artist in 2024 is utter utter bullshit imo, that’s like a season 2 critique not Global All Stars. Why invite all these queens from different countries with different types of drag in their culture if you’re going to just want the same old? I’m utterly baffled, this is like Shuga Cain in Dragracadbra levels of bullshit elimination. I can’t be bothered with this season if they’re going to keep favouring the girls Ru already knows and pay everyone else dust. Maybe they want to save say Kitty for a comedy challenge, but if you’re worried about the comedy challenges because of the cast, then make it fairer for ESL queens if you’re going to cast them.

WIN Pythia

HIGH Alyssa, Nehellenia/Vanity (mainly due to Vanity’s design which was easily the second best behind Pythia’s)

LOW Kween (that second look of hers was potentially the worst thing on the runway all night)

BTM Kitty, Soa

ELIM Kitty

Kitty and Kween were for me the flat out worst this week. Both their design looks were meh to bad and neither fit the category, and then they each had one flop in the other categories too.

 

The episode was good though! Lots of good workroom banter.

 

Imo Athena won the lipsync as well, Soa did not know a LOT of the words - but she probably makes better tv.

Pythia was incredible this week :wub: but Alyssa's first look too, damn she's not playing this time! Not sure I agree with the elimination because it feels like as time goes by it'll be more of the same from Soa, and Athena wasn't *that* bad. Neither really wowed in the lip-sync though.

 

I loved Tessa in this episode though, can't lie :kink: I think the fact that she's so delusional (and not in the worst way) and just takes it all in her stride and is there for a fun time makes her easy enough to warm to.

 

Kween was nothing special, and my GOD Kitty is hard to tolerate this time around. It's like UK3 really has implanted something in her mind that makes her think she's some untouchable, perfect drag goddess. Everything is for the cameras too.

Kitty avoiding the bottom over Tessa with two amazing looks and an infinitely better dress than what she'd sewn in 15 minutes?! LOL it's like they HAD to have a bottom 4 to laugh at poor Tessa. They should've put Nehellenia in the Top 3 tbh.

 

Will Kween ever go for something other than 50 shades of beige? I'm so bored.

 

Athena is one of my favourites here and it's sad to see her go.

I think Tessa was meant to be high based on her first two looks, or maybe yellow safe as she had mixed critiques. Either way the others coming for her with some of their packages was hilarious tbh.

 

Her design look was pretty messy, but I could see what she was going for. It was maybe too ambitious for a design challenge under timed pressure, but I love her for swinging for it compared to say what Kitty or Kween cobbled together with little thought.

Tbh there was no way they weren't going to critique Tessa in the ball challenge just so they could make '1 ball' jokes

RuPaul got BOTH Belgique winners (Drag Couenne and Alvilda) mad as hell

 

Catching up with the 2nd episode and I was quite surprised that Vanity was top 2 over Gala! Gala would've done a lot better in the lip sync as well.

 

For the ball challenge the judging was definitely off. Maybe it's my taste but I acutally loved Miranda's looks and thought she was high safe? :lol: I love her reference for her design look and it was definitely one of the better ones.

 

I can understand Tessa being low for storyline. You could tell the set up for a fall was coming when she mentioned she had a degree and then ended up creating that dress. Honestly I don't even think it was the dress but the way she styled it (should take notes from Alyssa!). She reused that god awful wig from her taent show :lol:

 

I enjoyed Kitty's first two looks. Her design look was a choice for sure though.

 

I honestly thought Kween Kong was going to be bottom as I didn't actually like any of her looks? And her design look was one of the worst.

 

Poor Athena :( I thought her first 2 looks were quite strong and the design look wasn't that bad!

 

Soa was rightly in the bottom 2 unfortunately.

 

For me:

 

Win: Pythia :wub:

High: Alyssa (based on how strong her first 2 looks were) & Vanity (she should've been high based on her design look alone, stunning!)

Low: Tessa

BTM: Kween & Soa

 

I am loving the Tessa & Alyssa back and forth though :lol: The editing is giving me bias towards Ru girls quite a bit (Kitty/Kween/Alyssa) which is slightly annoying as I'm really enjoying a lot of the other queens. But I can tell that they are not production's queens to push unfortunately (Miranda not Top 2 week 1 and then low this week makes me feel she isn't going to last long - which is a shame as I am really loving her!).

I thought Kitty’s second look was one of the worst of all time :lol: and Kween’s was not much better. It’s one thing to have a bad designed look, that’s under timed pressure and might not be your skill. But to bring something from home that hideous like… they paid for those?!

 

Also Alvilda ATE with that post, that’s what is frustrating me the most! Even down to the lipsync song, having a very wordy lipsync that’s driven by the lyrics, that’s just gonna be a disadvantage for the ESL queens right away. It really feels like they just didn’t think it through and actually tailor the season for these queens to show them off when it would have been so easy to do that. I feel like they aren’t seeing what each franchise brings, what each drag scene from each country brings, they just want what they’d get from a typical Drag Race season.

Honestly it feels rude.

 

Like they actually have no respect for the non-English first language queens. They'll invite them to humour them but that's as much as they can expect.

 

I hope to see some of the ESL girls winning soon to disprove that theory.

Kween and Tessa did a viewing party and made fun of Nehellenia, insulted her and imitated her nastily, Kween finished by saying love Nehellenia then sneered and rolled her eyes. Nehellenia responded saying she expected it from Kween but was disappointed in Tessa. There’s probably a lot we’re not seeing with the short episodes, perhaps we see a bit more of these attitudes as the crop thins out and the queens left get more airtime, depending who stays and goes. People have been referring to a lot of old Reddit posts too that are highlighting Kween as a horrible person oop. I think it depends what was actually said whether it’s shade or nasty but given what’s been said about Kween it’s hard to take her side tbh
