October 14, 20241 yr And their No.1 single, A Little Time. All of the above are brilliant, he's a fantastic songwriter. Yeh brilliant!
October 14, 20241 yr And their No.1 single, A Little Time. All of the above are brilliant, he's a fantastic songwriter. Yep, all those listed plus my personal favourite '36D' - in fact their 'Carry On Up The Charts' greatest hits doesn't have a bad track on it!
October 15, 20241 yr Great to see The Last Dinner Party benefit nicely from the re-release! That's slightly less than I expected for Charli tbh considering there's so much hype around her at the moment, however, I clearly just over estimated the hype. I imagine Gaga won't be pulling in too much more for the 'Harlequin' album either, but hopefully she can hit 10k by the end of the week! (I suspect more 7k-8k)
October 15, 20241 yr And their No.1 single, A Little Time. All of the above are brilliant, he's a fantastic songwriter. The Beautiful South were on the local radio where I am a lot in the late 90s when I was a child so I remember a lot their songs. Rotterdam is probably my favourite but Perfect 10 is catchy too. The acapella bit of A Little Time is lush though! Edited October 15, 20241 yr by TheSnake
October 15, 20241 yr Always found itfunny that Housemartins Included Paul Heaton together with Norman Cook who later became Fatboy Slim Long way musically from Housemartins to Fatboy Slim
October 15, 20241 yr It makes me happy when people in the music industry have career longevity, particularly when their career morphs over time: either they go from performer to writer, or in the case of Paul Heaton, they are part of a number of different acts over time.
October 15, 20241 yr Always found itfunny that Housemartins Included Paul Heaton together with Norman Cook who later became Fatboy Slim Long way musically from Housemartins to Fatboy Slim Maybe thats why they split?
October 15, 20241 yr Glad to see DWAS up to No.2, hope they can keep ahead of Grace as it’s pretty tight on the streaming front. Nice to see Harlequin now too 10, still not sure how Happy Mistake hasn’t been more popular. Wasn’t expecting Heaton to be that far ahead in the mids, hopefully charli can claw it back, it deserves a week at the top.
October 15, 20241 yr Yep, all those listed plus my personal favourite '36D' - in fact their 'Carry On Up The Charts' greatest hits doesn't have a bad track on it! Yes a huge selling album at Xmas 1994.
October 15, 20241 yr Maybe thats why they split? It was funny when the Beautiful South split, the press release said is was due to “musical similarities”. :D

October 16, 20241 yr Yeh, I kind of thought they would though given their streaming last week was on 4-6k!
October 16, 20241 yr Seems that almost everyone who are interested in the album actually pre-ordered it.
October 16, 20241 yr What I find weird about Coldplay is that they were selling consistently all week last week. They’d done 160k in the Monday update, 200k in the Wednesday update and 237k in the final chart. How do you go overnight from consistently nearly 10k per day to not being able to do 10k all week? I don’t know if it’s that all their promotional strategies were so heavily geared towards Week 1 that buying in Week 2 is quite unattractive.

I assume it was lots of backlogged pre-orders being released throughout the week?
October 16, 20241 yr yes those were the physical variants etc being sent thru the week rather than all on Friday and it gave a fake illusion that they were consistently selling but was just orders being sent late
