Really interested to see Alex’s album sales, they seem to be reacting quite early so guessing Dolly is posing a threat?

He now has 3 iTunes versions for £4.99 (Standard, Extended, Live), the live version has also been added to his website for the same price, the red vinyl has been reduced to £25 on Amazon.

Some of his vinyl variants are pretty expensive which I’m sure is not helping - the confetti vinyl is £77 (!).

not sure how much variants will help Alex given I'd imagine much of his physical sales will come from more 'casual' fans buying a single CD/Vinyl whereas I'm not sure he has a large enough stanbase to move significant volumes of variants - I can't imagine many of his fans being willing to pay £77(!) for a Vinyl variant

Im not sure if its normal but been seeing the people who have been getting the confetti vinyls have all been getting unique 1 of a kind ones which may explain the huge price tag

Given he already had 8 physical variants at the start of the week there must be at least some market for them

This is the most excited / nervous I have been for a chart update in such a long time.

By every metric I can see, HUGEL is falling away from other possible contenders / not got a big enough lead over some, down to 23 on Spotify yesterday (awaiting todays update of course).

Really would love this to be Dolly vs Ella but think Ella doesn't have enough momentum to grab it.

In the United States in the 00's when dance music was notably absent from the charts, Heaven and Every Time We Touch were the only two dance top 10s in like a 7 year span or something (unless you count Hung Up by Madonna as a dance song). He did really well to do that. Although both songs have piano ballad remixes which helped get a lot more airplay in the US.

I can't believe Bananarama are #3 in the mids. Appreciate front loaded and all that, but that's such an achievement.

Looking at the album discography, they did pretty badly with most of their releases back in the day. I guess they were definitely a singles band.

London Records have done an amazing job with the anniversary re-issue and so many great priced options and signed variants so was hoping it would do well.

Like in the US, the OCC probably go for the compilation with the highest pure album sales. Or whatever title the record label wants the streaming units to go to.

OCC wording is sometimes misleading but thats sounding promising for alex "steaming" ahead 🤞 can keep the number 1

This decade is maybe more of a drought for US chart dance songs in the entire top 100. Can only think of Do It To It by Acraze, I'm Good (Blue), Baby Don't Hurt Me and Roses (Saint Jhn) Imanbek remix (at the very start of the decade).
