December 19, 201015 yr Author Tinie Tempah. Lady GaGa :P And Eminem, the main artist on the highest selling single this year in the UK. There we go, Guettas next 3 songs sewn up!
December 19, 201015 yr I could get into how 4"33 is a piece of art in it's own right. But your lack of knowledge is really making me laugh now, it's not so hard to wikipedia John Cage is it? No where I said he is an artist because of 4"33, do you really think that's his life's work? some silence? Thanks for insulting me personally. You are swooping to new levels of low -_- I do actually want an explaination of why '4''33 is 'art'.
December 19, 201015 yr Don't kid yourself if music was about art only and not making money then all true 'artists' that you would praise would release their music free online. true musicians such as Trent Reznor do release their music online for free ;) of course there has to be a money making element as people need to live, but the fact that the whole music industry is based on making money that it's ended up that everyone sounds so generic and similar in order to make money, it really has ruined the creativity of music. talking about coweels 8th mansion - does he pay tax to the british excequer or does he say some on his estates are in the caribbean meaning he doesnt pay his share?? That would suggest the rich pay tax under this government! however that's a debate for a different thread. (p.s f*** vodaphone) there will be what 2 maybe 3 acts from x-factor this year who get signed, if that was the sole way for bands and artists to be discorvered now there wouldn't be anyone in the charts. And how many people in the charts are new artists? how many new artists in the chart make music that is original and does not sound like something that has already been popular? These are the reasons I take no interest in the chart, because all the music is so generic and commercial because it's mostly created to sell and make money. business over art, it's a bad thing.
December 19, 201015 yr Lady GaGa :P And Eminem, the main artist on the highest selling single so far this year in the UK (as I'm sure you know, with being a Chart Mod :P) I LOVE both David Guetta and Eminem, but I somehow can't imagine them doing a collab. It would never happen, like ever. I could see a Lady Gaga one happening in the future though. Edited December 19, 201015 yr by Eric_Blob

December 19, 201015 yr Poor Jacko, only #4 although with decent sales Poor Jacko? It's a disgusting cash-in from a record label so they can try and get more out of his work, which he never wanted to get released. -_- I'm surprised The X Factor Finalists are still this high, are people getting the physical as Christmas presents?

My 2 favourite artists (tori amos and levi kreis) will never have a single that sells what the x factor winner will have, but i don't need to get annoyed by it. i can purchase their music, they are happy making their music for their fans. the only artists/fans that will be upset by what matt achieves via the x factor are the jealous ones who only dream of those kind of sales, otherwise it wouldn't even be an issue to them.
December 19, 201015 yr Author Did someone just say 4'33 is art???? lol:    Its not just silence though - and its no less 'art' than some forms of modern art. Some people are so closed minded!

December 19, 201015 yr Thanks for insulting me personally. You are swooping to new levels of low -_- I do actually want an explaination of why '4''33 is 'art'. I try not to insult personally, but it's hard when people are so against a simple understanding, here is some information about John Cage: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_cage We must remember that Cage composed 4"33 in 1952, when the minimalism movement was at a height, and the fact that Cage was an experimental composer, this is art because it's and uncoventional and original composition where the performer does not play the instrument, but however consists of the sound the enviroment the performer is. Basically, it's Cage trying to make a statement that any sound can count as music, not just musical notes etc. We could argue all day whether or not it is art, infact i'm not even saying it is, i'm saying people can argue that it is, infact looking wikipedia their is a $h!tload of info on the composition, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4%E2%80%B233%E2%80%B3
