Indeed, and Matt has got his break via the X Factor - the impact he made through his hard work sadly failed (as it does for countless others).

 

The point is that the X Factor shouldn't be the sole way for new singers and bands to be discovered - we need more creative ways of hearing new music.

 

there will be what 2 maybe 3 acts from x-factor this year who get signed, if that was the sole way for bands and artists to be discorvered now there wouldn't be anyone in the charts.

music is what it is and the likes of bob the builder and mister blobby have filled the charts (at xmas) in the past. they aren't real talent or hard working artists.

 

some get their lucky big break others don't, music is a business afterall.

I could get into how 4"33 is a piece of art in it's own right. But your lack of knowledge is really making me laugh now, it's not so hard to wikipedia John Cage is it? No where I said he is an artist because of 4"33, do you really think that's his life's work? some silence?

 

Do Music GCSE or A Level and you will be studying John Cage, just like I have, and just like music students will for probaly hundreds of years, John Cage has a massive legacy that will probaly never die, unlike any X Factor winner.

 

 

and it only got to 21? It's official charity single or did they just said they will give all the money from this week to charities? I think they should have come with an actual song! i don't know what's the silence cause (guess against X-Faxtor) but i find it bad idea to use a silence song! If is for charity, you do everything possible to sell the "product", especially these days. Anw, good for them for donating money

 

Well sort of the point of it was that it was silence, I thought it was an original and unique idea to follow the RATM campaign, but yes all the money is going to charity and it only got to 21, sad times. It's a shame more people jumped onto Surfin Bird, of which 0% will be going to charity.
