'Party Rock Anthem' doesn't annoy me as much as it probably should. It still sounds AMAZING in a club.

I take it Party Rock Anthem is now a million seller? What a bizarre act to get a song past the milestone considering some of the classic acts that have never managed one!

On the contrary, that is exactly the type of song I imagine selling a million or a least a mad number, like the Macarena, Teletubbies or Mr Blobby.

It's the song more than the act though, as shown by the utter failure of the follow-up single and the fact their album hasn't done overly well for the size of the single.

Much as I dislike PRA I understand why it's so enormously popular. I don't understand what's so great about the video though.

Aww my angel with devil lips Lana del Rey
I like 'Video Games' but I still think its overhyped and has nothing on 'Blue Jeans' and 'Born To Die'.

Video Games  think this is much better than her next single imo

Me too. I am ecstatic at the success of this song. I think this has classic written all over it.

Video Games. I just wish she wasn't so overhyped like this. There'll be a massive backlash against her if she gets a Lady Gaga/Justin Bieber-esque fanbase who end up annoying everybody.

I agree. Her next single is alright, but so dull. Frustrating that it will most likely go to #01 :(.

Actually it's interesting that Video Games is always higher on the official chart than on iTunes the whole week. Do the sales come from the EP?

I really doubt Born to die will be number 1. I hope you're right though. :P

Seriously, we can't deny there's quite a big difference between the charts of last May and now (apart from the fact that Party Rock Anthem (aka generic MESS) is STILL here :drama:). The charts are a lot closer to "Adele" at the moment, than to "Timbaland/David Guetta" like they have been the past few years.

Just because there's less dance stuff in the charts right now doesn't mean it's because of Adele. There's ALWAYS a time of the year where dance stuff does better than alternative, and vice versa. The current #1 is a dance record, and we still have LMFAO in the top 10 and 'We Found Love' is still hanging around even with massive sales, plus Taio Cruz is looking like he'll enter the top 5 this week with a generic dance track, and you can guarantee David Guetta will have tons of hits this year with his album. Likewise, we'll have the odd indie track doing well, too. I don't think Someone Like You has has ANY impact on the charts at all (beside the fact it was a huge seller).

I do think that Someone Like You has had a small impact on the chart, I don't the likes of Christina Perri, Lana Del Rey, Birdy, Charlene Soraia etc. would've been anywhere near as successful.
You da down RiRi. For some reason this sounds better in isolation than it does on the album but the album does feel half done

This Rihanna track is so awful that it actually makes me angry.

Just what were they thinking going with this for second single? It won't even go top 10, and this is from an artist who has proved time and time again that she can release just anything and it'll sell.
