I actually really like this single from The Wanted. Doesn't sound like a typical boyband ballad either imo. They've been SO much better this era too I think - all three singles have been fantastic (I don't count the bland 'Gold Forever').

Really?! :o I'm sorry you don't like him. :( I can see why some people wouldn't like him though. He's had some very dodgy music videos in the past.

Up is growing on me a bit.

I dunno, he just feels so cheap and un-necessary in the British music scene  There are rappers who do what he does so much better.

I think the midweeks had her as a climber, I'd be surprised if it's dropped out the top 40.

I thought the same, but I thought it would have been on by now as it's been around the 35-45 mark on itunes all week

Another graduate of the BRIT performing arts school (as is Leona Lewis, Katie Melua, Amy Winehouse, Kate Nash...), Londoner Adele Adkins was voted the hotest new talent in the BBC's 'Sound for 2008' poll. It looks like One Direction have taken over from them, they are quite similar. ;)

Aww, Someone Like You didn't climb. Ah well :P

How long can we keep this MOR ball rolling?

38th week top 40, hope it can make it to 40.

Warzone is rather dull imo.

Agreed, there is much better on the album then this.

I've never liked SLY at all. :( 'Rolling In The Deep' and 'Set Fire To The Rain' were much better.
Wow, Adeles 3 songs are all over 50 weeks in the chart. Amazing. Even more amazing they are all great. Now, if only Turning Tables can be a similar success

I remember a few weeks ago on Buzzjack there was a thread that talked about tracks that had managed 12 months in the top 75, and unless something drastic happens it looks like SLY is set to do so very shortly.
Someone Like You is my least favourite of Adele's "Big 3". But I appreciate it. I think this song could potentially have saved pop music.

How, exactly?

Oh yeah! I heard Party Rock Anthem in the club last night. :yahoo:

I can't undertand the hateness.

How, exactly?

It's shown people that there's still a big market for lyrically-driven songs. It's got people to think about "toning things down a bit".

Seriously, we can't deny there's quite a big difference between the charts of last May and now (apart from the fact that Party Rock Anthem (aka generic MESS) is STILL here :drama:). The charts are a lot closer to "Adele" at the moment, than to "Timbaland/David Guetta" like they have been the past few years.

I take it Party Rock Anthem is now a million seller? What a bizarre act to get a song past the milestone considering some of the classic acts that have never managed one!
