October 16, 201213 yr Don't get me wrong im a Leona fan however i just think if she can't be ahead in the first midweeks with pre-orders, An XF appearance [Performing to her core audience] and a Top 10 single against someone that has not made the Top 60 singles chart yet and has had no major TV/Radio support then i think the battle is lost just simply because sales must be so low for her to be trailing 2.5k when you would assume that the majority of her fanbase would have wanted to buy the album on day of release - And what would the album signing have added to her sales - 1k? - Can see both her and Jake being overtaken by Mumford & Sons and Leona charting as low as #3 Well she has promo this week and is leading Bugg on physicals therefore there is every chance. We'll get more info from MW tomo.
October 16, 201213 yr I wonder if the new GA single will go OA/OS, something else to watch out for this week. https://twitter.com/girlsaloud I doubt it. Chart positions have always been very important to them, so they're not going to risk it. James Ingham just tweeted that Jake Bugg is at #1, just 2500 copies ahead of Leona. Leona will end up at #1, not because she's suddenly increased her sales, but because she'll decline less over the week. Depending on how close behind Mumford & Sons are, wouldn't be surprised if Jake Bugg end up at #3. However, Jake Bugg is getting an awful lot of free publicity from being ahead of her
October 16, 201213 yr Author Rebecca Ferguson news JAMES INGHAM @JAMESINREHAB Rebecca Ferguson's deluxe version of Heaven looks likely to be top 10 on Sunday. Currently no.10 in midweeks. Single Backtrack no.16. :D https://twitter.com/JAMESINREHAB
October 16, 201213 yr Yay for Lawson! Hope they can hang on in the top 5, 'Standing in the Dark' deserves it :) And yeah Girls Aloud are releasing 18th November (although I wish they weren't because Olly's releasing that same day. I can't be made to decide between my two favourites...)
October 16, 201213 yr Was not expecting 'Backtrack' to be Top 20 yet! Thought it would be around #22 in the first update - Hopefully now that the single version is Top 20 on iTunes and the album version is Top 70 now it will hold onto an official Top 20 placing on Sunday :w00t:
October 16, 201213 yr I'm just so happy we have a new Ed Sheeran http://r24.imgfast.net/users/2414/30/66/10/smiles/72558.gif
October 16, 201213 yr Expecting around 25-30,000 sales for Leona now. They need to start getting ready to move on too single two and another xFactor performance. The album campaign is not dead yet. She just needs to do more promotion and stop expecting her name could sell her alone! In other news, I do like Jake Bugg!

I agree that they can still save the album - I hate the fact they will rely just on another XF performance though, They need to get her out there on any TV show they can get, She needs mass exposure - The media and radio are not interested and she is essentially re-launching herself after a long break. 30k for Leona [if that's what she achieves] this week is nothing short of a disaster though IMO.
October 16, 201213 yr Jake Bugg is absolutely nothing like Ed Sheeran, the only similarity is perhaps the surprisingly fast rise to fame. See also Ben Howard. Have heard a few of Jake's songs ('Lightning Bolt' has been sent to BJSC) and he's quite decent, glad to see him getting this success although it's likely to be a low selling #1 - though like 'Sigh No More' and 'Every Kingdom' it could rack up great sales over time. I wouldn't have thought Leona has much of a hope of overtaking him by the end of the week but stranger things have happened, flashbacks for some reason to JLS' last album overtaking Snow Patrol midweek.
October 16, 201213 yr Who the hell is Jake Bugg? Sums up how bad Leona is doing!! Also the fact people dont know him on here because hes not a female songstress so buzzkack has no interest - still have to purchase my copy of Jake!! :D This does remind me of when Lianne La Havas turned up at no2 in the mids in july and everyone was like - whos this - ive never seen her on mtv before lol, she cant be very good!! Indeed. Jake Bugg is only being compared with Ed Sheeran because they are both young male singer-songwwriters (and another link which wil be mentioned in Sunday's commentary). I find Jake Bugg a lot more interesting and will be delighted if he holds on until Sunday.
October 16, 201213 yr Can't believe there are people here who didn't know of Jake Bugg until today. I'm finding his music interesting (light years better than Ed Sheeran's to whoever made that comparison) and may purchase the album in time. Hope he stays ahead of Leona.
October 16, 201213 yr Hope Leona is #1 by the end of the week, she deserves it - the album is brilliant.
October 16, 201213 yr And yeah Girls Aloud are releasing 18th November (although I wish they weren't because Olly's releasing that same day. I can't be made to decide between my two favourites...) The girls will stomp all opposition into the ground! Olly Murs would do well to change his release date... on 2nd thoughts, since I don't like his music, he *can* release on the same week as GA... Can't believe there are people here who didn't know of Jake Bugg until today. I've heard *of* him, but not heard any of his music.
October 16, 201213 yr I know this sounds random, but I just heard the new GA single on capital radio (first play) I'm actually impressed, bit repetitive towards the end. :D http://www.capitalfm.com/artists/girls-alo...-something-new/ HkTgYpjmhw0 There's something about it which puts me off a bit - any guesses? :P
October 16, 201213 yr My album prediction for Wednesday: 01 Jake Bugg 02 Leona Lewis 03 Mumford & Sons 04 Muse 05 Ellie Goulding 06 Bat for Lashes 07 Emeli Sande 08 Pink 09 Rebecca Ferguson 10 The Killers/Jeff Lynne
October 16, 201213 yr When people say Jake Bugg is nothing like Ed Sheeran, they have misunderstood a Post that I made on Page 2. At no time did I compare their Music. About Jake, I said:, "He's a terrific talent, & he will hopefully end up as big as Ed Sheeran". I like Ed Sheeran's Music, but I like Jake's a lot more. I like this one best - so far:, Two Fingers - Jake Bug J9XwFecNXyU Edited October 16, 201213 yr by zeus555

About Jake, I said:, "He's a terrific talent, & he will hopefully end up as big as Ed Sheeran". I think someone said "oh great, another Ed Sheeran" after that, which might be what people were referring to. But I agree, he *sounds* nothing like Ed Sheeran. I'll see if I can have a listen to his album in full tonight, as the songs I've heard are really great!
