It's such a shame 'Mama Do the Hump' is their highest-peaking single (not counting HSAB) when imo it is their worst. :(

Traveller's Chant. :(

Shane Filan is under performing - Was sure with the 'hype' of it being his first solo single that he would be Top 10 with ease! However saying that the Westlife fanbase always seemed to struggle with the transition to the digital age and still wanted CD1 and CD2 to be released of their singles :kink: Am sure he will get decent album sales though.

Wait, he is no.1 on iTunes album chart, isn't that a good thing?

What will be more important in the official chart in the end, the album or single position on iTunes? I suppose single since you say he is flopping right?

Sorry if my question is stupid or if I'm not making much sense, I'm not very familiar with iTunes.

But there wasn't really hype about him, he just recently started to promote it so I wasn't expecting him to have a Top 10 with any ease.

6. Lost Generation - Rizzle Kicks

46. Everything to Me - Shane Filan

87. Doing Ok (feat. Jacob Banks) - Wretch 32

91. Sex - The 1975

133. No Strings - Chloe Howl

461. Move - Mausi

605. Adorn (feat. Jessie Ware) - Miguel

Chloe Howl doing well so far!

6. Rizzle Kicks – Lost Generation

39. Shane Filan – Everything To Me

49. Nina Nesbitt - Don't Stop

77. Wretch 32 feat Jacob Banks – Doing OK

79. The 1975 – Sex

Well I am not surprised that the song is not so high in the singles chart, because it is part of a 4-track EP that you get for £ 1.99, while 1 song alone costs 99p, so a lot of people go for the better deal and get the whole EP, hence why this is No. 1 on the album chart. Plus of course he ha s a CD-single for this out, that has already done well on pre-orders for e.g. on amazon. And of course you can also get the whole package via his official homepage. Considering all that, I would not already count him out for a Top 10 position on the official chart.

A couple of album pre-orders:

025. Miley Cyrus | 'Bangerz (Deluxe)'

034. Katy Perry | 'Roar (Deluxe)'

046. Lady GaGa | 'ARTPOP'

Miley "slaying all bases". But tbf, GaGa's been available for pre-order for a while now (got to number 1 on PO didn't it?) and Katy got released today with Miley, but no other track has premiered, so not as much hype surrounding her (atm) as Miley has premiered 'Wrecking Ball'. I imagine Katy's pre-order will climb higher when the other track (that's being chosen right now) becomes available.

I highly expect GaGa to release another single, if not 2 by the time ARTPOP comes out in November. That should push the pre-orders up again.

Hm, I've just realised that the pre-order for "Roar" has disappeard from the singles chart. But the single is sill availabe, so can't see why
Hmm. No idea. I wonder if they're getting ready to release it?

Sales are so weak in the album download chart that being #1 on that is not going to add him loads of sales, Also whilst the fans will be downloading the EP casual buyers will be downloading the single track which is struggling at #39.

The CD single pre-order is #1 on Amazon but again sales are a joke - James Arthur and The Military Wives are still in the Amazon Top 10 singles!

Don't get me wrong i really want it to do well however can see it entering at low Top 20 and disappearing fast but as I said in my original post I can see his album selling and doing well.

It was deleted this morning (I couldn't find it), but now it's re-added.

Weird how they didn't add it as a pre-order from Prism, like they did in the US

I've just heard Counting Stars properly for the first time, it's SO good :o Really hope it gets top 10 soon like Drive By did.
I'm assuming the new Miley Cyrus song isn't being made available on UK iTunes yet.

The new entries don't really move fast this Sunday :o

I think she could do a similar release strategy like the last era, by releasing a couple of OAOS album tracks ahead of the albums release, she's got time to get another two singles out at least!

It really is great, just downloaded it now - awesome and only 59p.

-x-

Hope Nina Nesbitt can score her second top 40 single this week, gutted that Way In the World missed out even though top 40 in the mids at the time. :(

They are both equally important, but the single position looks more impressive cause the singles chart is more competitive than the album chart.
