March 2, 201412 yr 24 17 03 Tegan And Sara Featuring The Lonely Island Everything Is AWESOME!!! The Lego Movie - OST | 2014 http://a5.mzstatic.com/us/r30/Music/v4/da/15/23/da15237c-bae7-116c-49b9-23615b128751/Lego_Movie_Sdtk_Cover_1500px_RGB_72dpi.170x170-75.jpg Chart Run: 65-17-24 Release date: 04-02-2014 Format: download only track Label: WaterTower Music Sales: 20k+ Video here: StTqXEQ2l-Y Biography Folk-rock duo Tegan and Sara first burst onto the Canadian music scene in 1998, when they earned the highest score in history at Calgary's "Garage Warz" competition; their quick rise didn't stop, for their melodic acoustics and charming stage personas led to a slew of dates with Sarah McLachlan's Lilith Fair that same year and a record deal with Neil Young's Vapor Records in April 2000. Natives of Calgary, these twin sisters derived their music interests from their parents. Tegan and Sara began playing piano at age eight, and in their teens they were skanking around in their own punk bands. This Business of Art, which was produced by singer/songwriter Hawksley Workman, marked their debut in mid-2000, and a summer tour with Neil Young and the Pretenders followed in July. Two years later, Tegan and Sara released If It Was You, followed in 2004 by their commercial breakthrough, So Jealous. In 2005, the White Stripes released a popular cover of If It Was You's "Walking with a Ghost." That same year saw the duo touring the U.S. with the Killers and landing seven songs in the popular medical TV drama Grey's Anatomy. In 2007, Tegan sang backup on a song on new Sire labelmate Against Me!'s album New Wave, and the twins, who had by then moved far from the singer/songwriter mold and were more interested in exploring pop, punk, and indie rock, came out with The Con, produced by Christopher Walla of Death Cab for Cutie. Working with Walla went well, and Tegan and Sara also utilized his production skills on their next album, 2009's Sainthood. 2009 also found the duo collaborating with Tiësto on the song "Feel It in My Bones" for his album Kaleidoscope and with comedian Margaret Cho on the track "Intervention" from her Cho Dependent release. 2011's live CD/DVD Get Along was paired with three short behind-the-scenes films called States, India, and For the Most Part. On their seventh studio album, the duo turned to producer Greg Kurstin (Lily Allen, Kelly Clarkson, Ke$ha) for help in making an album that reflected the modern pop sound. The very slick, yet still emotionally powerful Heartthob was released in early 2013.- iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): Tegan & Sara 2014 17 Everything is AWESOME!!! (Tegan & Sara Feat. March 2, 201412 yr 'Everything Is AWESOME!!!' still in the top 30! Brilliant. SO GOOD. 'The LEGO Movie' is recommended to EVERYONE!
March 2, 201412 yr I didn't expect Riptide to drop so much :o I thought it would be one of those low-peak, long-chart run type songs I was kind of expecting it to be the next 'Ho Hey' (it's chart run seems quite similar before it's fall this week). As if 'We Built This City' was only a #12! Surely it's just as, if not more, remembered/iconic than 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now'?
March 2, 201412 yr This song is hilariously awful  I hope Tegan & Sara can have some hits off the back of this though and don't get remembered as a novelty act because they're far from one.
March 2, 201412 yr Saw the Lego Movie last week. Everyone should, then they'd love Everything is Awesome.
March 2, 201412 yr "Everything Is Awesom" has one thing going for it - probably the catchiest song of the year

Born and raised in Barranquilla, she began performing in school, demonstrating Latin, Arabic, and rock and roll influences and belly dancing abilities. Shakira released her first studio albums, Magia and Peligro, in the early 1990s, failing to attain commercial success; however, she rose to prominence in Latin America with her major-label debut, Pies Descalzos (1996), and her fourth album, Dónde Están los Ladrones? (1998). Shakira entered the English-language market with her fifth album, Laundry Service (2001), which has sold over 20 million copies worldwide. Its lead single, "Whenever, Wherever", became the best-selling single of 2002. Her success was solidified with her sixth and seventh albums Fijación Oral, Vol. 1 and Oral Fixation, Vol. 2 (2005), the latter of which spawned the best-selling song of the 21st century, "Hips Don't Lie". Shakira's eighth and ninth albums, She Wolf (2009) and Sale el Sol (2010), received critical praise but suffered from limited promotion due to her strained relationship with label Epic Records. Her official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)", became the biggest-selling World Cup song of all time. With over 550 million views, its music video is the eighth most-watched video on YouTube. Since 2013, Shakira has served as a coach on the American version of The Voice, having appeared in two of its six seasons. Shakira has won many awards including five MTV Video Music Awards, two Grammy Awards, eight Latin Grammy Awards, seven Billboard Music Awards, twenty-eight Billboard Latin Music Awards and has been Golden Globe-nominated. She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and she is the highest-selling Colombian artist of all time, having sold a total of 125 million records worldwide, over 70 million albums and 55 million singles. Her U.S. album sales stand at 9.9 million. Outside of her work in the music industry, Shakira is also involved in philanthropic activities through charity work and benefit concerts, notably her Pies Descalzos Foundation, her performance at the "Clinton Global Initiative" created by former U.S. President Bill Clinton, and her invitation to the Oval Office by President Barack Obama in February 2010 to discuss early childhood development. In 2013, Shakira was listed on Forbes as one of the 100 most powerful women in the world. - Wikipedia Chart history (Year peak title): Shakira 2002 02 Whenever Wherever -1- 2002 03 Underneath Your Clothes -2- 2002 17 Objection (Tango) -3- 2006 09 Don't Bother -1- 2006 01 Hips Don't Lie (Shakira Featuring Wyclef Jean) -2- 2006 34 Illegal (Shakira Feat. March 2, 201412 yr Oh Shakira, Shakira! I adore her voice, I remember when I went to Spain and Beautiful Liar had just been released it was all I ever saw and heard. This brings back memories haha
March 2, 201412 yr I'm guessing that "Peppermint" has missed the Top 40 despite it being a relatively dead week. The curse of Jessie Ware strikes yet again!
March 2, 201412 yr Quite a solid run for this, annoying that it peaked at #11 but some of the best songs do! Quite shocking that Shakira's only had 12 top 75 hits in 12 years! She's a superstar! My second favourite solo artist ever.

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, she performed in various singing and dancing competitions as a child, and rose to fame in the late 1990s as lead singer of R&B girl-group Destiny's Child. Managed by her father Mathew Knowles, the group became one of the world's best-selling girl groups of all time. Their hiatus saw the release of Knowles' debut album Dangerously in Love (2003), which established the singer as a viable solo artist worldwide; it sold 11 million copies, earned five Grammy Awards and featured the Billboard number one singles "Crazy in Love" and "Baby Boy". Following the disbandment of Destiny's Child in 2005, she released her second solo album B'Day (2006), which contained hits "Irreplaceable" and "Beautiful Liar". Knowles also ventured into acting, with a Golden Globe nominated performance in Dreamgirls (2006), and starring roles in The Pink Panther (2006) and Obsessed (2009). Her marriage to rapper Jay-Z and portrayal of Etta James in Cadillac Records (2008) influenced her third album I Am... Sasha Fierce (2008), which saw the birth of her alter-ego Sasha Fierce and earned a record-setting six Grammy Awards in 2010, including Song of the Year for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)". Knowles took a hiatus from music in 2010, took over management of her career and explored 1970s R&B, rock and roll, and African and funk styles. As a result, her fourth album, 4 (2011), deviated towards a more traditional R&B sound. A self-described "modern-day feminist", Knowles' songs are often characterized by themes of love, relationships and monogamy, as well as female sexuality and empowerment. On stage, her dynamic, highly-choreographed performances have led to critics hailing her as one of the best entertainers in contemporary pop music. Throughout a career spanning 15 years, she has won 17 Grammy Awards and sold over 118 million records as a solo artist and 60 million with Destiny's Child, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time. The Recording Industry Association of America recognized Knowles as the top certified artist in America during the 2000s decade. In 2009, Billboard named her the Top Radio Songs Artist of the Decade, the Top Female Artist of the 2000s and their Artist of the Millennium. In 2013, she was also included in Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world. - Wikipedia Chart history (Year peak title): 2002 07 Work It Out -OST- 2003 02 '03 Bonnie & Clyde (Jay-Z Feat. March 2, 201412 yr I still find XO unbelievably average. :( How annoying to go top 10 on iTunes though but not even manage top 20 officially! :(
