I’ll enquire this tomorrow I was agency staff so it’s likely I might not.

But I have like 7 days worth of pay to get off them as I done a 6 day week last week and then today as well. Likely going to be getting my holiday refunded soon too so luckily I’ll have enough to get by :) helps I still live at home with parents too!

That's a relief then, really glad to hear you'll be okay

Luckily I am thanks :)

I’d been getting weekly pay which was going towards gran can at the time but I’ll just save now x

I'm stoked about the antibodies test tbh my ideal fantasy is that I've already had it & didn't notice.
Kind of same. I had what I assumed was a normal thing weeks ago (and probably was based on the number of UK cases at the time).

I isolated for days until I was better but I would still feel terrible if I had passed it on.

BBC News:

The prime minister is announcing strict new curbs on life in the UK to tackle the spread of coronavirus.

From this evening people must stay at home except for shopping for basic necessities, daily exercise, any medical need and travelling to and from essential work.

Shops selling non-essential goods will also be shut and gatherings in public of more than two people who do not live together prohibited.

The UK death toll has reached 335.

If people do not follow the rules police will have the powers to enforce them, including through fines and dispersing gatherings, Boris Johnson said in a televised statement from Downing Street.

Other premises including libraries, playgrounds and outdoor gyms, and places of worship must also close immediately.

Parks will remain open for exercise but gatherings will be dispersed.

Welcome to our world, y'all are late to the tea party
And I still have to go to work. Working for a bank in a call centre. Classes as an essential worker and noting mentioned about them shutting.
Generally relieved by this although slightly nervous they'll now cancel my hispital appointments that I've waited months and months for :/ which would be irritating.

Surely that will have to change now?

I'm off work at the moment but my manager messaged me today to say that they were only opening the branch from 10-4 now, and closed an hour for lunch.

Surely with tonight's announcement they can't just have a bunch of randoms coming into a bank and queuing less than 2m apart? Hopefully I receive another update at some point tomorrow.

Pleased with this, I just hope people do actually stick to it and that the police are out there enforcing it.

The language has been slightly better this evening. They should never underestimate just how simple and direct your language needs to be when you're talking to everyone.

A very well worded speech and delivered with decisiveness. People must listen now!

Very scary times, but it has to be done.

I guess that means one dog walk a day for me, and that's it. :(

I know it’s a first world problem, but my cleaners have just shut down and so now I need to order a decent vacuum cleaner, anyone got any suggestions?

Yep. Same here.

I went back today and the office was as busy as ever. About 80 members of staff in total. We hot desk (change desks every shift) plus I had a coach sitting directly next to me breathing all over me and talking to me and I could smell his breath. About three feet away to my right and behind me were other staff members at their computers too. It's disgustingly close and uncomfortable.

Like, I'm glad Boris is doing something but these companies need to f***ing look after their staff. It's 2020! Why aren't work from home options - especially when it comes to call centres - so much more accessible?

Isn’t hot dealing the kind of thing that should have been first to go in this situation? It doesn’t seem hygienic even if there isn’t a pandemic!

I’m not even going properly out to walk, I’ll lap the garden for fresh air and do indoor exercises.

I’m mostly concerned about food shopping as that is the only reason I will leave the house now. There are no delivery slots anywhere local right now and I’m worried the supermarkets will get manic-how are they policing it? I can get most things at my local shop, I guess.
