Hope they can clear 100k by the end of the week!

Hopefully the first of many in Q4 with Ed/ABBA/Adele on the horizon.

surprised adele lost in the dark isn't in the chart

I'm disappointed, would far rather see that than have Someone Like You back again

That's really good for Coldplay, way above my expectations. I thought it might do 60-65k for the week. Good for them!
Does Coldplay’s album have the biggest first-week sales for any album this year so far?

Yup.

Amazing sales for Adele and Coldplay! Also worth noting that the 2 older Adele songs charting are on ACR (but they won’t get reset cause of how old they are). Higher Power by Coldplay is at #45 but should get reset with the new rule of it getting reset on the week it increases (it would be at #17 on SCR just now)
I knew Coldplay would so well but wasnt expecting their sales to be on over 80k already, part of me was expecting them to be on about 50k today, looks like they will easily clear 100k which is brilliant to see as it doesnt happen that much any more.

Can't believe those Coldplay numbers!

(Possibly my least favourite album of theirs from what I've heard so far, but still good to see big numbers)

Adele on for well over 200k surely? If Sunday streams are missing from today's total and she's still doing well over 1M on Spotify per day?

They are doing over a million per day. Between Friday and Sunday, Easy On Me produced 5,873,757 streams on Spotify alone.

Kerrrrazy sales figures for Adele and Coldplay! Also wow @ old Adele songs making the top thirty, not sure I'd have predicted them that high :o also Becky in the top ten, we love to see it *.*

This must be the "zero minus infinite" buzz for the Coldplay album that Bjork told us about :cheeseblock:

Seriously though that is fantastic for them, already beaten the first week total of 'Everyday Life'! Hope they can go on to do 100k+ for the week, it was quite disappointing that 'Everyday Life' fell short of that as I believe all of their albums before that managed it? I did think they had a chance of beating the first week of their last album because of having bigger / more commercial singles this time but after the Spotify showing was basically the same as it was for 'Everyday Life' outside of the top two songs I was lowering my expectations a bit so it's a great surprise to see them easing past that total after all. Cool to see them with a good showing on the singles chart as well, 'My Universe' looking like it'll get a second week in the top 5 which is more than can be said for any previous BTS song, and it's more fair this week to say it's because of interest in Coldplay rather than just them!

Nice to see Daniel O'Donnell reminding us he is still alive and showing up for his annual top 40 album. Also interesting that '19' is quite close behind '21' now as it was way behind last week - unless there is just a rather large gap in sales between #10 and #14 which is possible.

It was behind both SLY and WWWY in the Monday midweeks last week as well but overtook WWWY by the end of the week - I wouldn't necessarily expect that to happen again this week though as it's well behind both on Apple and only barely ahead of SLY on Spotify (compared to it being decently far ahead of both on both platforms last week). edit: actually it's fallen behind SLY on Spotify today too!

Really? That's surprising if true, it only got back to #59 on Spotify with the album release (so #45 is around where I'd think it would be right now with a reset unless I'm missing something). Are we sure it hasn't just been given the reset already? That did happen with 'Don't Play' so wouldn't be unprecedented (even though the other instant resets have taken until Friday to show up).

After 3 days sales,

2 The Beatles - Let It Be (12.8k)

The brand new Super Deluxe Edition reworking of The Beatles’ classic last album Let It Be sends it to Number 2 midweek, putting the project on course for its first Top 10 placing in 50 years – aside from the “alternative mix” Let It Be… Naked which reached Number 7 in November 2003.

Not bad for a 51 year old album.

Just realised there is no sign of the Lovejoy EP on the albums chart? Must be ineligible for some reason as there's surely no way it'd be outside the top 40.
Not surprised a bit of a clean up in the album charts with national album day, expect there will be a lot of new entries every week until the end of November now
