October 18, 20214 yr Nice to see No Angel top 50, was hoping for top 40 in the first mids. I wonder if it will remain top 100.
October 18, 20214 yr tbh in terms of buzz, I can thoroughly believe that Coldplay are the type of band who have a massive silent majority fanbase who just aren't online.
October 18, 20214 yr Great numbers for Adele. With missing data factored in, she is most probably around 110-115k. I think she should be able to pass 200k quite comfortably by the end of the week. Especially as her Sunday drop on spotify was quite soft! I expect she may increase in streams again. Glad to see "When We Were Young" and "Someone Like You" both in the top 40. Shame "Love In The Dark" isn't there instead of "Someone Like You". 25 and 21 both top 10 now! :o I wonder if 19 will manage to hold on to a top 20 placing. Would be amazing to see all 3 albums top 20.
October 18, 20214 yr Top 100 Singles 1 Adele - Easy On Me (99,793) * 2 Elton John & Dua Lipa - Cold Heart (26.0k) 3 Ed Sheeran - Shivers (24.3k) I wonder if Ed will make a campaign for 'Easy On Me' to go #1 :kink:
October 18, 20214 yr 3 Daniel O'Donnell - 60 (5.4k) * There's no doubt that Daniel O'Donnell being on track for one of the highest charting albums of his career has been boosted by the music video for the album's lead single, which, I say without a hint of irony, is the single greatest music video ever made. Someone gave Daniel the funny brownies again. Far-FyJs1jA
October 18, 20214 yr Me But why? The music's shite! Listen to Wolf Alice instead, which is REAL punk and alternatice, and not pop trussed up like indie x

October 19, 20214 yr When was the last time the #1 single and album both cleared 100k? I could be missing something, but just from a quick look through I'm fairly certain it was Shape of You / ÷ back in March 2017 (achieved for 2 consecutive weeks following the album release). October 19, 20214 yr Many people shocked to Coldplay's 2 days sales (81K). Let me explain few things to you guys 1. Coldplay have many fans. 2. Album announced 3 months ago. So they'll collect many pre-sales. 3. 1 important thing is Coldplay offering their upcoming 2022 UK tour dates pre-sales codes to who pre-ordered and bought on 1st week through Coldplay's UK shop. That's why they're going high. 4. Current sales already outsold Everyday Life's first week sales. Because Everyday Life doesn't have hit singles like My Universe and Higher Power. And they announced Everyday Life just 20 days ago before release date. They didn't toured to support Everyday Life and did less promotions. 5. Coldplay is now going around 150K sales in 1st week. But still not enough for Coldplay (Biggest band of 21st century). You can't deny. Viva la Vida is sold 302k Just in 3days, MX has sold 208K, Ghost Stories has sold 168K, AHFOD has sold 235K in 1st week. But we're living in 2021. It's streaming era, casual listeners won't buy music albums today. So it means Coldplay still have many loyalty fans. Most people saying "Coldplay is now done, overrated, crap band, boring songs, they finished after first 2 albums bla bla", but haters still going Coldplay tour, isn't? :D Thank you. October 19, 20214 yr 'Worst reviews ever' It has a score of 57 on Metacritic, that's not much below the reviews that they have always got at least this side of 2010 (it is marginally their lowest but before 'Everyday Life' which gave them a slight reprieve with a score of 73, their last three albums and the 'Kaleidoscope' EP all scored in the low to mid 60s). What is the need for the massive hyperbole, can you not just say it has had bad / average reviews? it's a way of speaking lol not everything has to be literal It'a sure the worst reviews I've read this year but cannot judge myself, won't give the album a listen, they've went too far for me with the BTS collaboration Edited October 19, 20214 yr by Bjork
October 19, 20214 yr I did think that Coldplay's usual hype had felt a bit lost this era, despite a successful BTS collab - I felt like their music possibly wasn't connecting with their normal fanbase. Obviously I've been proved wrong - I expected a very easy #1 album of course, but on a notably lower sales number.
October 19, 20214 yr Does anyone have first week sales of Coldplay albums they can kindly pull up, thanks? xxx Edited October 19, 20214 yr by chartjack2

October 19, 20214 yr Nice to see Daniel O'Donnell reminding us he is still alive and showing up for his annual top 40 album. Also interesting that '19' is quite close behind '21' now as it was way behind last week - unless there is just a rather large gap in sales between #10 and #14 which is possible. I'm never going to have anywhere else on BJ to post about Daniel O'Donnell, so may as well drop this video for his new single here, it definitely caught me off guard  Far-FyJs1jA There's also a cover of the Irish Eurovision winner Rock & Roll Kids on the album.

October 19, 20214 yr Lol @ that Daniel O'Donnell video! I can't decide if it's the best or worst video ever made  that chorus is definitely an earworm though  Edited October 19, 20214 yr by Mangø
