215k would be brilliant for Adele, ionce it hits 200k i will be very happy with that, its really exciting seeing such high sales, it really does add alot to the charts when sales are strong. How many weeks do you think Adele will have at number 1?

Well she’ll certainly have next week and then it will be interesting to see what happens with the Sheeran album release. She could hold him off though, particularly if he doesn’t have another standout track and it’s just Shivers and Bad Habits getting a boost. Then she’d have a clear run to her own album release and possibly until the Christmas madness.

25 at 3 in the album chart is amazing
Coldplay’s sales must be mainly physicals if they have done only 7k since Monday’s mids, hope they clear 100k still!

Will Coldplay even manage to pass 100k then, if they've only done 7k over the past 2 days?

Well it’s the biggest opening of the year by a long way so hardly a flop!

"Flopping" lmao

A shame that them reaching 100k doesn't look so certain anymore though. Would have been brilliant to see that in the same week as a 200k+ #1 single.

the thing is bands like Coldplay have it difficult to do well in the US album chart unlike 5-10 years ago cos now tour bundles don't count anymore

before you could announce a tour, have a tix bundle meaning without any extra cost you were getting the album for free with your ticket

and that counted towards the album chars... but not anymore...

for instance with a tour bundle, Bon Jovi's 2016 album This House is not for Sale could re-enter at #1 on tour bundles alone,

while their 2020 album could only make it to #19 without a tour bundle...

Who said they relied on tour bundles in the past?

I'd be very surprised if he didn't, although we saw what happened with Emeli Sandé if you leave it too long.

It's not about the time gap. If the material is not up to par with the first album, then a sophomore slump is inevitable.

Coldplay on course to have the fastest-selling album of 2021 so far

Too bad they will hold the record for only a couple of weeks.

Would be good for Coldplay to reach 100k but it seems unlikely now.

Adele should reach 200k though!
