December 6, 20214 yr Amazon don't fudge the numbers they just I assume put their Amazon exclusives on heavy rotations when people ask for Xmas music. I don't think it is unusual I'm pretty sure Spotify insert plays from certain artists more often than others when people have shuffle on. Spotify's will just be harder to see though as it will just look like X artist they have a deal or reason to push is just very popular. Edited December 6, 20214 yr by sammy01

December 6, 20214 yr Are ladbaby releasing? The only thing I've seen is the story from The Sun Yes http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=250931 And the Crazy Frog this Friday, wonder if the Crazy Frog is releasing a cover Version of Last Christmas or All I Want for Christmas Is You
December 6, 20214 yr The Sun article has too many specific details for it to be made up surely. Then again, it is The Sun. The absolute ruse if it turns out they actually don't release anything. It is weird that they haven't said anything about it themselves yet, but I think the last 2 songs were also announced pretty late.
December 6, 20214 yr the difference is that when you put a playlist on shuffle on Spotify it never repeats a song but it does on amazon and coincidentally it's with their exclusives and you end up listening to River 5 times in 1 hour :D
December 6, 20214 yr the difference is that when you put a playlist on shuffle on Spotify it never repeats a song but it does on amazon and coincidentally it's with their exclusives and you end up listening to River 5 times in 1 hour :D Surely after 10 times in 2 hours, the rest of the plays are meaningless for the rest of the day?
December 6, 20214 yr Surely after 10 times in 2 hours, the rest of the plays are meaningless for the rest of the day? But still that means someone who’s shown no active interest in the song could be giving it 0.1 sales per day just by having background music on for a couple of hours.
December 6, 20214 yr Amazon always have a massive push this time of year so it’s no surprise their streaming gets bumped up - they slash the prices of their Alexa’s for Black Friday and now they are running a 3 month free streaming campaign which I’m sure gets people that picked up an Alexa keen to sign up to so they can try out their new toy.
December 6, 20214 yr The OCC says, "Ed Sheeran & Elton John are heading straight for Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart with their brand new single, Merry Christmas. With more than double the chart sales of its closest competition – reigning Number 1, Easy On Me by Adele – the pair are sleigh-riding into success on the Official Chart: First Look. If the song can hold on, it will mark Ed Sheeran’s 12th total Number 1 single, and third this year, and Elton John’s 9th and second this year." How does it have more than double the sales of Easy On Me? I can see how it could be ahead but not by that margin. They are significantly behind Adele on Spotify and although they are doing better on Apple and Amazon, the two tracks are still ranked right next to each other.
December 6, 20214 yr ^ Downloads presumably - Ed and Elton doing about 4 times #2 and that affects First Look disproportionately.
December 6, 20214 yr I think Ed and Elton will be #1 for the next 2 weeks, followed by LadBaby, and then either Wham or Mariah.
December 6, 20214 yr I think Ed and Elton will be #1 for the next 2 weeks, followed by LadBaby, and then either Wham or Mariah. That does seem the most likely outcome. (and doesn't that sound like the most predictable December chart run ever save for Elton's John's involvement oop :kink:)
December 6, 20214 yr EJ/Ed are ahead of Adele on Amazon, which is what matters now, doing 10 times more than Adele on iTunes and 1 million streams more on YT for the last 2 days makes sense to me they're doing double than Adele Edited December 6, 20214 yr by Bjork
December 6, 20214 yr Ed and Elton have probably released to early to block Ladbaby getting the Christmas number 1 unless ed and elton can hold up with some serious streaming numbers.
December 6, 20214 yr I think it’s about time that the underrated classic - Sleigh Ride - gets a new peak.
December 6, 20214 yr When are the kunts releasing with their song about BJ, is that this Friday or the following? Hopefully can go top 10 at the very least

Hopefully can go top 10 at the very least It is out on the Christmas chart week (i.e. 17th). No idea whether to expect them to repeat last year's success or not. You'd think it'll be diminishing returns but that hasn't been the case for LadBaby so who knows x
