Was hoping SZA would be Top 40 :( Guess we will have to wait until January, how dull.

The Sun article has too many specific details for it to be made up surely. Then again, it is The Sun. The absolute ruse if it turns out they actually don't release anything.

It is weird that they haven't said anything about it themselves yet, but I think the last 2 songs were also announced pretty late.

The ‘Lorraine’ interview I mentioned a few weeks ago on the ‘Christmas No1 thread’ they didn’t specifically say but both have a big grin when she asked if they were going to take on the record!

Yep, it was December 13th last year. So we should hear about it sometime in the next week or so.

'Christmas Tree Farm' top 40 *.* happy to see 'Santa, Can't You Hear Me' not too far out also at #45!

Based on those sales i would think Ed Sheeran will easily overtake JLS by the end of the week but they should be safely Top 4 at the lowest and they have very decent sales so far.

Great sales for Adele again, should be on course for 65-70k?

Amazing to see Leona's "Kiss Me It's Christmas" charting! I hope it'll get some more playlist support from spotify. Not sure if it'll be able to hang on in the top 100 come end of the week. Although it has the advantage of being on SCR.

^ hasn't it been out for a few weeks already? (i.e. no reason to expect that it'd be frontloaded enough this week to fall from #78 to out of the top 100, unless I have missed some reason for it to have a short term spike at the start of this week)
Since Cold Heart is the 5th highest non-Christmas song in the update, does that mean it’s back on SCR?

He hasn't a hope of getting to number 1 but great to see Shaky doing so well!

Yes. It's recently been climbing Amazon/Apple Music quite a bit (was 90/142 respectively at peak on Sunday). But I'm not sure that will be enough to keep it top 100 if it falls away the rest of the week. It isn't getting much airplay support at the moment, although BBC Radio 2 have given it a couple spins so I'm hoping they'll playlist it this week.

I'm hopeful that if it's doing this well on December 6th, it'll stand a chance of going top 40 the week of Christmas.

No it’s still on ACR, it’s just doing big numbers still

Always find it interesting to see what will rebound and if there will be any surprise hits after the Christmas clearout - as the chart is so slow moving it’s actually the most interesting time in the charts in December and January with old Christmas songs getting new peaks followed by overlooked tracks rebounding up the charts in the new year.

It could go back into the top 5 post Christmas.

Ed and Elton have probably released to early to block Ladbaby getting the Christmas number 1 unless ed and elton can hold up with some serious streaming numbers.

Ed will be releasing 50,000 signed sausage rolls in Christmas week with a CD attached :D
