Always find it interesting to see what will rebound and if there will be any surprise hits after the Christmas clearout - as the chart is so slow moving it’s actually the most interesting time in the charts in December and January with old Christmas songs getting new peaks followed by overlooked tracks rebounding up the charts in the new year.

Absolutely!

If Adele added about 6k today (which seems roughly accurate) that just means Ed & Elton were somewhere over 26k yesterday, so the gap today is probably similar if not bigger. But it does depend on how far they were 'over' a 2 to 1 margin yesterday of course, there's not really enough information to determine that.

Sheeran was at 20.1k (7.6k downloads) yesterday, Adele at 9.7k.

So he added 13k in a day, she added 9.5k.

Oh, that seems like a surprisingly large update for 'Easy On Me'? (That's actually more than she was doing between each of the updates last week despite her overall figure today being quite a bit down from last week's Monday figure).

Apple Music streams were not accounted at all for the first 2 days, so it got a bigger bump on Monday update. The race will be very close, since the Christmas songs tend to decrease during week days, and EOM usually increases. We'll get the real picture of how things are shaping up in the Wednesday update (will Sheeran additionally decrease during the week as is the case with new songs).

Ah that makes sense then (although it almost certainly means Ed was never really beating her 2 to 1, he shouldn't have been even by the usual incomplete First Look data). Guessing she will drop down to adding 6-7k or so per day for the rest of the week.
Cmon Christmas Tree Farm, yeah it will drop out but great to see it top 40 cmon Taylor promote it
Taylor, make 30,000 signed CDs for Xmas Tree Farm, you can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) ;)
Hoping to see today if Adele has closed the gap on sales front for single and if her album has reached 50k

I think Ed could well have pulled further ahead in today's update with Sunday streams added but Adele should start closing the gap from tomorrow if not today - 14k is already quite a big gap to make up though so I expect Ed will probably hang on now.

Cue Adele already being ahead today or something because my predictions are legendarily bad recently

I'm also going to risk egg on the face and say I think Ed & Elton will hold on comfortably. Based on last week's Monday mid vs the full week and this week's Monday figure "Easy on me" is on course for about 53k. Ed & Elton will slow through the week but should still end up over 60k.

I'd say 100% sure Ed&Elton will be #1 this Friday

Just look at the downloads, super stable all week, haven't dropped a bit, thats at least 20K that Adele cannot beat

with the advantage she has on Spotify alone

plus then theres YT, YT streams don't account that much normally but Ed&Elton are doing very well

so don't think Adele can catch up

Also I was wondering if Wham! might be at #2 in today's update with the Sunday streams added in, but then drop back to #3.
The Ed Sheeran signed CDs were sent out yesterday. Just got mine!
