Congratulations to Chez! Finally a win and I really look forward to your hosting as you've delivered in the contests you host. FSR Rontvia getting 2nd is inspiring too! Sergeistan securing a top 10 finish is great to see. The foreign language songs that I think should do well all flopped oops (what was that robbery to Botanikka and Lookylion in my semi smh) :( Nathy Peluso slaying in the bottom 5 too :cheer: :cheer:

Thanks once again to everyone for the nice words about the hosting this edition. I certainly enjoyed a lot making graphics and hosting listenthroughs with an idea in mind. I hope to host another one in the future if I have a winning entry which is going to be difficult to find despite me claiming my next entry is a winning entry. :kink:

Thanks mods for making the hosting and everything else smooth x Thanks Roba my partner-in-crime, my double A-seed partner, for a great experience in co-hosting!!

Congrats Terra!

Shame we couldn’t squeak out an extra point to take 19th, Ive Never finished there! Around where I expected Neea to finish based on how some other entries I feel similarly about have ended up doing in the last few years

congrats to chez, fantastic winner!! and so great to see pestolia come 3rd as well, would have loved that as a winner as well! but 3rd is retribution for those of us who've sent 80s bangers in the past only to come bottom 10 or dnq :kink:

the rest of my votes seem quite scattered among the scoreboard, either my tastes diverged quite a bit this month or people flocked to a number of different songs this time around, and the competitiveness is welcome!

very happy with top 15, I can't for the life of me remember where explosions in the sky placed but I'm pretty sure it wasn't high as 15, so this might be our best result and certainly the first time we've cracked 200! hopefully the top 20 streak continues~

and thank you uhsting and roba for the fantastic co-hosting duties, and also bre for quality assurance duties as always~

Wowwwww congratulations Chez :cheeseblock: amazing to see you finally win and with an excellent song too  that's the best winner in several years, my 15 pointer. Then my gold medal finishing 2nd also?! So glad that Rich managed to claw back a really impressive finish after a slow start.

Elsewhere in the top 10 I also voted for: Pestolia, Altyr Muunilinst, N DNTN and Pupok so another month of exquisite taste up there!

Ngl I'm quite disappointed by my own finish oops </3 when I confirmed I thought I had a potential cross-over smash on my hands, then came crashing down to Earth after the DNQ prediction  and hoped for top 20 tonight. So 25th is underwhelming! It sounds huge to my ears  but, one thing I am happy about is the medals haul and especially the 18s from Lotti and Klaus as it is the best feeling in this contest for others to be as into your entry as you! No regrets with reconfirming, still obsessed with this and I'm sure my OG jungle potential would've been massively overshadowed by our winner :') :kink:

Thank you for your amazing enthusiasm uhsting and Rob throughout <3 and your scoreboards tonight were very much appreciated too, Bré!

I knew I can always depend on Greenfroze ;) tysm

And I knew I could count on you too! Thank you so much for the 9 points!

23/68 Séyetana

13 Greenfroze ◆ ICHIGORINAHAMU - Rakuen

look I don't know how this made it out of semi 2 but thank you, it's beautiful Japanese craziness that I always want to find a great example of to send but often find myself chickening out of

24/68 Pupok

18 - Jadakissnia

15 - Greenfroze

You're welcome! I am so glad you enjoyed it! I hope you can find the courage to send some beautiful Japanese craziness of your own some day! :D

oh, and thank you, Pupok, for the 15 points! That's amazing!

Wow, thanks to Greenfroze for the 18! And some lovely points from Sovarasma! :cheer:

The rest of you can shove it. Jk kimora

Thank YOU for the lovely discovery! I feel like I've given you a lot of big points in general, so keep sending what you're sending! :D

Imma need Uhsting to continue being the BJSC PR team, that shit was iconic for real

Imma be fired very soon after getting that role :kink:

I am happy with my results. I mean, I was really happy to just qualify for the final, and I think 155 points is pretty decent! I'm so glad a lot of people enjoyed my entry.

Not particularly enthusiastic about the top three, but that's okay, as I discovered a lot of great songs from this contest overall :)

Imma need Uhsting to continue being the BJSC PR team, that shit was iconic for real

him and Wardy actually, the fact that we got so many newbies made this contest worthwhile

THIS!!!

would just like to say I confused my q streak with my top 20 streak, twiabp did not come close to top 20 in december, but this is our 3rd top 20 and best result and still our best top 20 streak thus far (2). ok that's all

*regains self and strings together coherent words*

I mean I did figure I'd reach a key audience here to do quite well, but never in a million years did I think this would be the one to break the curse!! I'm shocked, but thrilled. This was a random late-night YouTube find which then led me to his other work, I very nearly sent this other track, Lovepain, from there too, I'll link it here for those that were a fan, I would highly recommend the parent EP for this one too

Thank you all so much, they said my 30s would be the best time and they weren't wrong :D But no srsly, however busy my life gets, I have always really enjoyed making time to participate in these contests for the last 10+ years of my life, and while I certainly never just play to win, it really feels great that I can give something back for all these great discoveries and spread the word of a little-known artist and well after 110 contests, I guess persistence pays off!! (now let's make Utopia, Seyetana and Kluminican Republic win this year too to give justice to all x)

Having my favourite discovery in quite some time finish 2nd to me is probably never going to never be beaten, what a result  Great to see N DNTN and Pestolia do so well too and quite a few of my votes finished quite decently, with the exception of Persephonia and Eledan aww </3 (not that the latter was that surprising with a deduction)

I think that's everything, phew! Thank you to Roba and uhsting for your excellent efforts, will be quite the tough act to follow especially with a contest this size, watch this space though x

Wow, congrats Chez!!!! Finally another country scratched off the "when will they ever win?" list. And I can feel slightly more hopeful about my own chances maybe one of these days. Hopefully it was worth all of the jumping back-and-forth throughout the results, but I'm sure it was!

Not the best month for my faves, except for Sergeistan with their first top 10, very pleased about that! 16th is still good for Singerpurear and RdÁ staying top 20 is a relief. Still pretty baffled at Jupiterdonia's result! Kind of same for Zanmatony but that's still better than almost any other opera song would do here. Even though Yobnedorica was only my 1-pointer, it was definitely the catchiest entry for me, eternally stuck in my head. :deadbanana: so I'd have predicted that one higher too!

Thanks again uhsting and Roba for hosting! A trip to Terra Avium next month does sound very promising :o

Huge congrats to Chez :cheer: , a long time coming even if i didn’t point you this time.

11th with a nice bunch of 18s, wow! Didn’t expect that as the track didn’t seem to get any hype, also my 18 pointer keeping me out of my first top 10 finish since Alba August :D.

Great contest in general with thanks to the hosts!

This one will go down in the history books, not just because of Terra Avium getting the win, but the sheer quality and joy that this contest has brought to so many. It’s definitely been one of my favourite song contests to participate in ever due to the number of people it brought together and the enthusiasm of so many debutants and returning nations, thank you all for making it one for the ages.

On that note, yes I did participate by actively inviting and recruiting new and returning countries to this one event, but I have made the moderators aware I won’t do that again after some complaints were made about me approaching certain ones needlessly. I didn’t try to be a salesman, I just wanted to make one contest feel special because I never got to have my BJSC 100 experience for reasons most know about so I wanted to try and make this event feel special for everyone, and it certainly did that for me, so thank you all for participating. :)

Congratulations to my 2 pointers Chez! Really excited for Terra Avium hosting next time, as I'm returning to dance music thanks to Calvin Harris. ^_^

Really pleased to see my Top 3 are all in the Top 10! :o

Thank you Roba and Uhsting for the hosting! (and Wardy for bringing a lot of participants. Well at least 30 people has listened to my entry. It's a special one, despite being a DNQ)

Why would anyone complain about you PMing them about BJSC? It's incredibly easy to ignore if you're not interested, no need to moan about somebody putting effort in to something. :)

I was grateful for your reminder for one.

To be clear we didn't think there was anything inherently wrong with invite PMs being sent to people. Just that they were sent to a few too many people (including people receiving multiple messages even after declining the first time) and a slight concern that people might end up entering the contest as a 'favour' rather than genuinely being interested in joining (as spiceboy pretty much directly admitted to). But it's fine, the contest survived and of course we're always happy to see new and returning countries and hoping at least a few of those who debuted or returned this month will stick around. Though I expect numbers will rebound back down to more normal levels next contest and there will definitely be at least a few people who will be grateful about that :kink:

We're not making this an ongoing issue, it was what it was and we're moving on ~

I'll be making more of an effort to stick around for the next one than my last two attempts lol.

I actually do have a song in mind already for the next one. ;)

I didn't hype this at all but Somewhere Near Marseille is song of the (last) year territory and therefore there could be a lot worse than 7th but it would never be good enough !! Buuut I'm glad Chez got his first win, which I also gave a healthy dose of points to.
