  • That’s not bad for Gaga. I’m assuming they’ve only counted HausofKubrick’s sales so far so we’ll find out the true sales figure in the Tuesday mids.

I'm amazed anyone can paint Gaga's sales as underwhelming, they're fantastic for any artist, especially one who's over 15 years deep into their chart career!

Incredible opening sales for MAYHEM! To invalidate them is pretty meaningless and random because on any other week for pretty much any other artist the numbers would be hailed as very healthy and impr

So Die With A Smile will out this week?

I would guess it will stay ahead of the 3rd (and maybe 2nd) entry from the album on Friday. Even on ACR it's still doing better than Garden Of Eden on Spotify.

Jeez Gaga had first album in 2009 and already considered an "older female"

That was sixteen years ago. Using that same timeframe, artists in 2009 whose debut album was in 1993:

• Björk

• Shania Twain

• Sheryl Crow

I would argue all of them would be considered “older female artists” by 2009.

Yeah that’s how I try to look at it. It’s sad but true.

also: Gaga’s first major-label album was released in 2008 kink

I should have given some context! There is a thing about female pop singers over the age of 30 being ditched.

I remember Pink talking about how she was told they needed to rethink how to market her, now she wouldnt have any hits anymore. She told them to do one and released 'What About Us' in the next campaign

Was gonna say what's that say about Taylor swift she 18/19 years into her career even longer than GaGa and having arguably her most successful eras ever (minus 1989)

Intrigued to find out Gaga's sales!

Great to see HotWax sitting in the top 10 right now.

I haven't got around to the Divorce album yet (blame MAYHEM mania) but like what I know from this era so far.

I adore Kraftwerk's Autobahn album so yay for some 50th anniversary impact there. 🩵

No sign of Jimin’s WHO after its convenient spike last week (unless I am being blind). Seems the bots have moved on for now.

Pretty so-so sales for Gaga honestly. At least it looks like abracadabra will get #2

Yep it's completely gone from the top 100! Bots must be on strike

Chromatica did 53k in 2020 so Mayhem should hopefully top that.

I can’t see Abracadabra staying at #2 it will probably be more like #4 or #5.

I was expecting bigger sales from Gaga given all the variants but I guess they are mostly all expensive double vinyls / picture disc / zoetrope etc (I’m thinking her vinyl sales will be a lot higher this time) Hopefully streaming holds up throughout the week.

Opening with 41,000 is still absolutely incredible for a 7th album especially when we’ve seen other pop acts struggle.

Tempting to suggest which song they've moved on to... but if 'Who' is still on SCR, then on previous form there's every chance it'll return in a week or (perhaps more likely) two.

Ghost coming for a second chart hit?
