Justin is a completely different person now than he was in the early 2000s tbf. He hit rock bottom and changed his life around completely, and has now been sober for 18 years. He was on mental health

I think it's far from guaranteed he'll manage it though, this will be the real test for him if he still has such a strong footing.

Well done to The Darkness - after the blips with their last few albums (#10 & #16) they went all out with this one.

They’ve had it on pre-order for months (including doing a Christmas Version pre-order in December) and have played the formats game to perfection (Signed individual band CDs for £5, Downloads for £4.99, CD/Download bundle £8.99, Signed Vinyl, Personalised Vinyl etc.,).

They also did tour pre-sale codes when ordering the album and had planned a ton of instore signings and performances (which they’ve cancelled today and said they won’t be rescheduling).

Or maybe songs that are still popular enough to be in the top 100 despite literally being handicapped by 50% every week should be allowed to chart

Great sales for Mumford and Sons and im totally suprised at the sales for the Darkness, i didnt see that coming at all but really happy for them.

4525 for Kylie is also much higher than i was expecting, she needs at least 2k more to stay top 100 which i cant see happening but would like to be proved wrong.

Just checked out the top 100 albums and I see a top 40 album continues to evade post-punk band Snapped Ankles (after their last reached #41) as they're at #95. I need to give it a listen in full as both 'Raoul' and 'Pay the Rent' are tunes.

Great top 3 album sales, didn’t think the Darkness would do that much but it has as been said been in preorder since the autumn!

Wonder if any of the new Miley will make a splash in the top 100? She's released 2 tracks with a 3rd coming at 10pm. They have videos to go with them as well so youtube views will hopefully help. I assume this is more a taster of her upcoming visual album. Wonder if they will release a tracks regularly in the build up?

Healthy top 2 in albums good to see , unlucky for the darkness would be number 1 most weeks with that

The Darkness have no business selling those kinds of numbers! I listened to the album today and I wasn't overly impressed.

I'm not surprised by The Darkness selling so many! They have 22 download versions alone as well as 4 member cassettes, A Christmas CD / Vinyl, Splatter Vinyl, Signed Member Cd's for £5 and stacks more bundles!

I genuinely think it's the most variants I've ever seen! Good on them though clearly working!

Tbh, I fell for The Darkness strategy. Very clever strategy selling the download versions, one for each gig of this tour with the full recording of the show you went to!

How many sales have the last few Darkness albums sold? Is it likely that they will end up selling more copies of this album in week 1 than some of their other albums have in years?

Also hope that Butler, Blake & Grant hold onto the top 40. It features members of two of my favourite bands, Bernard Butler formerly of Suede (and half of my namesake), Norman Blake of Teenage Fanclub, as well as James Grant, who has done some interesting stuff over the years (albeit not someone I was familiar with before this album).

Gutted for The Darkness, especially with, at last count, 44 variants available. I bought 13 so I tried 😭

Worse sounding albums have sold more before though 🤷🤣

Highly likely they will surpass the total of their last 5 releases combined (28,620) with this one in week 1!

Sadly, I doubt they will hold on. Perhaps they should have adapted this

This makes no sense. Where have all these fans suddenly sprung from?!
