Saturday at 20:315 days Still, 1 more week of something that there's already 5 or 6 weeks too many of every year. I just don't listen any more for those weeks, don't do the reshuffle chart or anything. It's so so boring

Saturday at 20:365 days Apple Music195 wham last Christmas Last Christmas songs clear out mr brightside for month
Saturday at 21:045 days Ugh with Wham already ahead I can no longer blame Mariah for starting the Christmas hype train so early...
Saturday at 21:065 days See Wham! At #192 on Kworb now. No Mariah yet but seems a bit of a slow start. Also tbf they’ve always done better than Mariah on Apple so let’s wait for Spotify tomorrow
Saturday at 21:105 days I think its help this year with the way Halloween has fallen and still weekend still activities going on so people arnt quick to switch this year, I wouldn't be suprised if christmas songs were more instantly on monday

Saturday at 23:035 days So without the Halloween songs Pussy Palace would’ve stayed at #7. Do we know if it increased in streams?
Saturday at 23:115 days The stream numbers are posted for the entire top 200 every day:https://charts.spotify.com/charts/view/regional-gb-daily/latestIt dropped by ~700 streams from yesterday.
Saturday at 23:395 days This weekend certainly doesn't feel Christmassy in any way to me, it's still got a Halloween vibe and there are lots of fireworks. I will probably start putting Christmas songs into rotation in about 3-4 weeks or so but have been surprised in recent years that a lot of people listen to them in early November. Completely get why it happened in 2020, as we were all trying to hurry the rest of that terrible year away, but I thought it would be a one off.
Sunday at 03:544 days I actually wouldn't mind the Christmas songs charting so much if it was genuinely what people sought out to play and they'd switch up every year by rearranging those playlists that people go to year after year. But it just ends up being the same songs every time and it's boring when those same songs literally dominate the charts every time.I wish it was like Halloween where those songs only take over for a couple of days, but it lasts for 2 months and it's always so boring. Ugh. Roll on January I guess.
Sunday at 06:524 days I wouldn't mind Christmas songs spending so much time on charts each year if there were other candidates than Mariah and Wham as well. And now it seems that even Mariah isn't really a candidate (hasn't been #1 since 2022) so we are going to get several weeks of Wham again I suppose.EDIT: Of course an Amazon exclusive can also reach #1 if the streams in general are lower than before. We shall see. Edited Sunday at 07:144 days by Sour Candy
Sunday at 07:344 days I might be wrong, so dont jump on me, I just feel "Last Christmas" is sort of just there and it's inoffensive and doesn't offend people, so it easily takes Number 1 where Mariah Carey is real in your face and she really pushes it on you so there is a fair bit of Malaise about the song and her at xmas time. It does well, but it is no longer a contender. Wham will take it, with pressure from Brenda Lee

The first year I experimented, it was so regimented, you knew which song she was going to play first as long as you remembered which song she played first last time).
