We have all been well and truly Luukered congrats Rich on your first win in a long time! After three second places even in my relatively short time here, I'm glad this was the one to go one step further, and break the 300 barrier in the process!

All 7 songs over 200 points either made my votes or commiserations, so this has turned out pretty great with a mixture of pop and not-pop up there. Was hoping for Neliönoir a little higher, but I guess it'll be an interesting showdown with Danæviia for the EOY.

Even without having a song in the final, it's been fun to see plenty of activity around these parts this last few weeks. Thank you Jade for a wonderful job hosting!

Jade smashed it with the most drama filled contest I have ever taken part of 🖤

So, our odds were a bit all over the place this month. I didn't expect and nor would have ever predicted us to win. The RontBet early leader (FARC) and eventual leader (POPHub) did both at least finish top five so we can chalk that up as a success. Hushkanukia we overlooked so an each way bet on that would have bagged a handsome sum! Congrats FARC and Hushkanukia on finishing top three!

We overpredicted a few songs in the odds based on others giving them high odds, mostly pop stuff as the pop vote was more thinly spread than last month it seems.

The FARC and POPHub songs were the best of this month's pop for me so I'm glad to see both top five, and I love Elëdan's entry, delighted to see it (and a talky song) top five, it's about time.

So happy to see my 18 from Skall made it into the top ten too, I love it. And Kath's entry! Nice to see Terra make it too. In a month full of big contenders, lots of my favourites made the top ten.

Very surprised Zanmatony missed the top 25, as it had a lot of early hype. I also really liked the Summericia song myself, so I'm glad it missed the bottom ten.

Congrats Rich! Been a long time coming and a hell of a lot of runners up, but it happened eventually! This was a great song and indeed one I voted for and could easily be a Eurovision song I hear on the night.

Extremely pleased with 8th, not a unique position but a third top 10 for me this year which is great and twenty places higher than that prediction in the thread had me I know the artist was a bit cheap and I have been making a conscious effort to not send repeat top 10 artists, but this was so immediately striking I had to try it, and I'm really pleased so many of you liked it a lot, that's a lot less voters than most of the top 10 and quite a few that don't ordinarily vote for me, so I'm very pleased to see, now let's see if I can keep my Q streak up x

Fantastic to see Eledan as high as 5th (love an 18 swap!) and great to see Danaeviia and POPHub in the top 10 as well, just a shame Persephonia couldn't stay there. Pleased Sovarasma and that's a pretty good position for Parallelograms as well. The host definitely far too low though, that was a real highlight x

Thank you for the excellent hosting Jade, it's been great to see so much discussion in the forum around this as that always makes it a lot more fun, I'll soon be ready to hand you over your next hosting job ;D

We all know the Eurovision performance, but I didn't love it musically and I probably wouldn't have pointed Ireland 2024 had it been a BJSC entry and wouldn't have gne out of my way to listen to new Bambie Thug music. It's been great to hear a different offering!

Delighted with a Rontvia return to pole position, especially when I gave it 18. Only real miss for me is Planningtorock languishing down at the bottom.

Also so pleased that I snook into the top 10 at the end! Thanks to everyone who sent points my way - it's one of the widest appealing entries I've sent recently in terms of where votes came from.

^ I was just hoping that you posting being surprised about me doing well was meant in a way of pleasant surprise hehe (I never really know whether to expect points from you or not, I've not quite got a grip on your taste well enough after all these years!)

Anyway all caught up again so ramble time

A bit of a tease that I was in the top 10 for most of the results but then it all went a bit wrong after my votes and I was yeeted down to fighting for a top 15 spot in the home stretch - especially as I again had deluded headcanon that you were all underrating it and I thought it did have an ok shot at top 10 - but pleased that I did indeed keep that top 15 spot to get my second highest finish of the year and only 13 points off the top 10. It is only my 3rd highest points of the year as Messa got 180 to come 16th, but on the other hand it's tied Chikoi The Maid for my best of the year both in number of votes and semi-final position! (I did think semi 2 was easily the better draw for me so not shocked that it turned out to be an underperformance in the final compared to the semi but a nice surprise to see it nabbing a bronze medal there anyway). Plus 5 medals in the final is more than my last 4 entries combined! Thanks again to all who voted, especially blacksquare ending my gold medal drought <3

'Luukered' did actually finally start to click with me a little bit more on my final relisten - IIRC I had it ranked either 21st or 22nd after the final SyncTube - but alas still no dice in ending the streak of winners I didn't vote for. I really like the groove it has going in the verses, I unfortunately just find that the hook/drop loses a bit of momentum and even the much-lauded genre switch at the end wasn't quiiiite hitting the spot for me (I did enjoy it more on my last listen which is why I pushed it up a few spots), I wish I could have got more into it as the potential was there for it to be a big favourite for me but it just never quite came together. Ah well, at least I've given Rich 2 18s for other entries this year, maybe I'd have liked this more if it was in Turkish instead of Estonian! It's tough for me to rank the winners of the year because this is now the 5th one that I ranked somewhere between 16th and 18th (!) but I think this might just about edge out ALT BLK ERA as my favourite winner of the year, and I promise it's purely coincidental that those happen to also be the only two winners this year that weren't recycled artists Very much looking forward to finally stepping foot in FSR Rontvia for hosting duties again, mad that it's been over 11 years. I'm almost rooting for the last winner of the year to be another one that gets nothing from me just because we might as well go for the full house x

I didn't vote for any of the top 5 oops (Elëdan only just missing out though and POPHub was also a commiseration, good to see them continuing their hit streak anyway x), I knew ORKID would do well but Maria Sur coming top 3 seems a bit surprising, not that I ever really know how to predict pop songs! 3 of my votes making the lower half of the top 10 at least, great stuff there for Cumulonimbia (my last minute energy not quite coming through for it but still respectable), Terra Avium was the one that knocked Elëdan out of my votes at the last second and especially glad to see my 18 from Danæviia just sneaking in on a tiebreak <3 Dan's taste in guitar music continues to be impeccable. Also voted for 11th and 12th, I had started to get a sneaky suspicion that Mothertopia wouldn't quite be contending despite it being easily the best pop entry of the month for me aw but still not too bad of a result, two top 15 hits for Lexie this year after she DNQed twice before, that's growth x Also yay for Sovarasma and Aeroche going top 20 though would have liked to see both a little higher, ditto for Neliönoir and Greenfroze, and Deandria but 22nd is quite good for that really (never unhearing the comparison to the Squidward future scene though ddd). Flynnonda, N DNTN and Dobago all deserved much better - Dobbo's previous Pendulum anniversary pick was a bit of a letdown for me whereas I loved this one so disappointing that this one finished lower but ah well, at least it qualified and forever has the iconic status of being the 10,000th entry finally a bit of a shame that Jadakissnia's host entry finished in the bottom 10 but of course as a bit of a wildcard auto-qualifier it could easily have gone a lot worse.

also: I think I actually predicted Hendinia coming exactly 14th on SyncTube so call me Mystic Brer

Thanks Jade for a wonderful smooth hosting job, loved how busy the forum was this month so sad that this contest is coming to an end now but hopefully we can keep some of that momentum going for what is going to be quite a fast turnaround to the last contest of the year! I've not got an entry in mind properly yet, I still have the techno song that I originally confirmed last month if nothing else but I think I'll look for other potentials before defaulting back to that.

Again, I’ve said it all about surprising performances, glad to see the bottom 10 predictions didn’t turn out to be true! 7 top 20s in a calendar year is a record for me so tons of pressure to see if I can break that in the next contest. Also saw that I was DEFINITELY in the right semi for this song as most of my points came from the pop hoes in semi 1. Thanks to everyone who supported (and especially medaled) Ashley Sienna!

Well done Rich! Feels incredibly overdue after so many 2nd places and a song that got points from me so yay! And after feeling quite “out of the norm” with my favourites during the listenthrough, I’m actually delighted that I voted for the top 3. A very inspired winner, and fitting that one of the Fleeting bunch still managed to win anyway.

Relieved my back up didn’t win for a second contest in a row with Steep Hills but also glad it did very well as it’s a superb pop song. Maybe I should be listening to my head instead of my heart when picking entries but I, like last contest, did send my favourite song in the contest and that counts for the most ❤️

Thrilled for Cameron too and hope this convinces him to stick around! I did think Maria could come top 10 but 3rd is an amazing gag. Another song I considered months ago but I didn’t think it’d do great but, as I said in the listenthrough the other night, it’s weird how different things feel in the context of 41/42 finalists than it does when you’re just listening to songs you like on Spotify. Different songs pop and Is It Love definitely felt like it popped even more than usual in this competition setting.

14th is a respectable finish after having my confidence knocked a wee bit! Another hit for the year and glad to see it resonated with plenty of the pop crowd as much as it did for me. I won’t hear anything from Cody about the pop bloc abandoning him though, because mine was a whopper of a banger xoxo
