I did actually confirm on day 1 as I had a song in mind (it's not one that I've listened to as much as I usually do with my entries and there is a reason for that but nonetheless I knew immediately when I came across it that I wanted to share it here x) but otherwise have been hibernating from this forum a bit so just catching up with the thread now and given some of you some post reaction spam to wake up to x

Thanks Sabrewulf for taking on the hosting job, felt like a bit of a throwback having to shop around for a host after two years straight of the winners being happy* to host! The auto-qualifiers have always been reserved for the winners rather than the hosts (well I think there was one very old contest where someone hosted from 3rd place and was given the AQ over the person who came 2nd before the rule was really solidified but other than that x), but usually non-winner hosts do end up qualifying anyway so hopefully Dalisska should be fine, although the entry clash was unfortunate as I did already know your original entry and would have been shocked if that didn't qualify. Having said that I'd forgotten about WORSTIEHub also DNQing in their own contest oop (I thought Yobnedorica had been the only ones).

I do really like the Blusher and Tove Styrke songs (as my votings in the Track of the Week polls mentioned in the writeups indicate xx) but they were both quite swift vetoes alas x

I do try and keep an eye out to remind people when they have anniversaries coming up (we're not due to have any more until much later this year unless there are any countries who return who were just short of one - I did say this before and Ben's Sanctuary returned on cue to have their 50th this month though so you never know). N DNTN's 100th is still a way off, this contest is your 78th.

(had to look up what your 50th entry was (Frankie Animal - KICKDRUM KICKDRUM!), I actually do still vaguely remember it despite coming last in the semi - I gave it 1 point x)

Capital playlisting has always been in the veto framework! (as Rob said it's just... unusual for Capital to playlist anything that anyone with half a brain cell would think was ok to try to send anyway. That said, it may or may not have now happened a second time )

So this would have been on zero if not for the Capital FM playlisting? 😮 It feels pretty well known at this point to me, maybe just in my online circles. It's also No.1 on Spotify UK viral chart.

It should probably have 7 for moderate internet exposure on this website for its thread/Pop Track Of The Week exposure and I imagine it’ll enter the Multichart, probably this week, so that’s just a matter of timing. Regardless, I’d have voted to veto it, it’s just that sometimes the points don’t match up to online presence.

I can think of many reasons why Bré would think that's a bad idea... but at least I'm not one of them. 🤓

I would have voted to veto MEEK regardless of Capital playlisting as well because I don't want to inflict it on anyone who hasn't already had the displeasure of hearing it.
