Congrats Addy ❤️ third time lucky for Mike Oldfield in a main BJSC then! 'Moonlight Shadow' from contest #4 has been an all-time favourite song for as long as I can remember (pretty sure I discovered it on the first Now album), but 'Man In The Rain' was a BJSC discovery from when I listened through some of the oldest contests back in the day. Now 'To France' has been another wonderful discovery (I clearly need to venture further than the Tubular Bells album) - gave it 9 points.

Sooooo happy that Liv Del Estal got me back in the top 10 this time as well after quite an unremarkable year for my nation up until now 😍 thank you for all the support!

Apologies to Pavel for snatching their desired 6th place at the last minute. But pleased their song was top 10 nevertheless as it was in my votes, plus I also pointed Kathaldazia (6), Sovarasma (15) and Ennea (18) from that top tier. So 5/10 of my votes up there and myself isn't half bad!

Congratulations Addy! My 18 winning is always a great feeling, Rob was my 15, Colm my 13 and then Kath my 11 points so the results are right up my street this month! Thank you to all for sending those entries (as well as Nine 3/4 for being my 12 too!).

Supermarket was entered on a whim after ORKID was vetoed so very pleasantly surprised it’s done as well as 8th! This didn’t seem to be getting as much support as Brick by Brick so it’s done better than I’d imagined (two contests in a row that’s happened now pour moi) and thank you Mothertopia and Hendinia for your 18s!

Sure, 12s are important, but so is quantity of voters imo. Choosing to leave either out feels unfair imo. Hmmm is Scotland 2's semi-final 12 meant to be N DNTN? As they're down giving them 0 in the semi and 15 in the final (and certainly the latter makes a lot more sense). Narrowly avoided that being a bigger controversy if so since N DNTN are currently 20th in the semi x

There must be number crunching that can be done to see whether tied songs that scrape through on 17th/18th etc. end up doing better in the final after having received a shallow but wide pool of votes in the semi or a few high scores.

Botanikka's song wasn't my thing but congrats on snatching yet another win! Once every decade now. Although they have only given 1 point to Mike Oldfield in BJSC 4. ESCÁNDALO !!!

The rest of the Top 10 is pretty good though, and I'm beyond excited to have finished 7th. Thanks everyone for the votes, that's the most I have received in 57 contests.

Just like last month with 14th, I only finished 7th once before, in BJSC 22 when I sent my first ever instrumental song in the contest - "Ljósið"!

Anyway, congratulations Addy! wow that was a close finish! I hope Rob gets an AQ next time for that - I gave at least 9 points to everything else in the top 7, plus 8 to Ennea in 9th, so these results are pretty great, especially a best yet 4th place for The Spodic Empire!

I am a bit sad to miss the top 20 by 5 points, but not altogether surprised as the reaction to this Tiffany song was somewhat whelming - 23rd isn't a unique position for me either as LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER got there first (still higher than Eurovision x) Thanks again to all Tiffany voters this time or last, but back to the board of drawing it is for the next contest.

You guys have no idea how long ‘To France’ it’s been on my potential list (as 1997 remix trance version), so I am just glad I recently discovered the original flopped and convinced myself to send it <3 (I must also admit that I really expected to do well, because I knew it had potential).

I’ve also wanted to win with a retro song for the longest, so I’m ecstatic it finally happened!!!

Congrats to everyone else as well, that top 10 is amazing, I’ve voted for at least 6 of them <3. Also I hope Rob isn’t going to begrudge Mike and Maggie, as I really loved your entry (as per usual) <3.

As an aside, can anyone with a more eagle eye than me please link me to the BJSC 9 final results thread? I tried to find it yesterday and couldn't locate it.

One of the songs has popped up in Bop Idol and I was intrigued to see if I voted for it at the time.

Well that was a close result, but it went in favour of the one I voted for so well done Addy! I guess it was a little bit better known than I thought, but at the same time, I hadn't heard it before myself and it was a wonderful song as Moonlight Shadow is so very pleased to see it triumph as retro songs very rarely do here!

Whoops that wasn't the best end to the voting for me, I guess they do better in BJSC as remixers than the main artists, I was admittedly hoping for better than 27th with this (can it not have been 25th, what do I have to do to get that finishing position D:) but given it was only 17th in the semi, that's still an improvement and I was pleasantly surprised by how many votes it featured in despite very few double figures, Many thanks all x

That's a great top 10 overall, I voted for 6/10 of them and one of them I didn't was a commiseration (and I somehow didn't even notice that that was Kane Parsons of Backrooms fame! Go see that movie everyone x)

I see ANOTHER COUNTRY$$$ was not really at risk of outpeaking my one in the end so no need for me to get jealous and sideeye people Sorry I couldn't give this more points, I do really like it, but it was a very strong final and my love for them did peak months back and I hadn't gone back to them a lot since. I'm also sad to see Just Mustard finish that low, I love the original and that would've been easy points, but I can't say this remix alone adds a lot to it sadly :(
