'Rein On Me' now UP on the same day last week...

...by all of twenty one streams, fewer than the weeks it's had at #1 cheeseblock

Well it seemed to close the gap from Monday to Wednesday this week from the previous weeks sales and that’s with its Spotify numbers actually being down soooo that surely bodes well for it 😂🤞🏼

This and Dolly’s “Unlikely Angel” have been in my Christmas playlist rotations for years.

Underrated holiday bops.

And Hard Candy Christmas

For context the above is ~6 hours of streams.

Considering that’s from about what 5/6 hours that’s brilliant!

Yup, that had to be like 4.5 hours max worth of streaming.

Jeez 200k in 5 hours 😮

Being a little pedantic but it is still 24 hours of streams, it's a perennially popular song so it's not like it'd have been on 0 streams for the day before / regardless of the news.

Based on Kworb's artist page, "Jolene" was averaging 339,438 streams/day worldwide. The UK figure for yesterday of 201,291 which is ~8.7% of its 2,310,261 global total. Using the same % we can assume that the song was averaging ~29,500 streams/day in the UK prior. So the 5-6 hours post-death account for an increase of ~170,000 streams compared to normal with that figure likely being even higher in tomorrow's update with a full 24 hours.

Other new Spotify peaks: 'Sue me' at #31, 'serena joy' at #43 and 'Orbiter' at #55. 'Midnight Sun' looks to have been heading for a new peak of #15 before the news broke.

Amazed to see how much Dollys catalogue is doing I think Jolene will probably leap to No.1 on the next Spotify update.

Hope she can claim at least another couple of new top 10s but I doubt it thanks to the occ, maybe 9 to 5 might be one that does gain top 10 status after all these years.

Why 'thanks to the OCC'? If anything their rules might make it more likely that her songs will go top 10 (as some of the most streamed songs of the moment are on ACR while Dolly's hits will be reset).

I assume this means as a result of Thursday streams on Spotify and Apple not being fully counted. But OCC hardly has control of this.

If she has any songs going top 10 it's more likely to be next week when the Thursday stream estimates won't matter (again if anything they might help her).

Only 43 on its first full day for a brand new olivia R track (yes its only a deluxe) is pretty weak 😲 be a shame if it blocks expectations from charting and doesnt even go top 40

SIENNA SPIROOOOO 275,082 - 20k off 2 😁

Happy if Dolly makes it (For obvious reasons) but I would love Sienna to sneak a week at number 1 over the coming weeks.

Oh dear I didn’t notice that 😭

Dolly has the whole Spotify top 3 today with 'Jolene', '9 to 5' and 'Islands in the Stream' ❤️

'Jolene' #1 with 522k streams

Should see those 3 Dolly songs in the top 40 easily then, Sabbath's Paranoid did 13k sales after Ozzy's death was announced (at around the same time as Dolly's death) and it wasn't doing as well as Jolene so I'd imagine we may see her in the top 20!

Dolly Parton has 13 songs inside the Top 200 on Spotify. Well, it's technically 12 because there are two versions of "I Will Always Love You" at #6 and #133.
