October 18Oct 18 I wouldn't be surprised if the OCC didn't credit Chappell on the "expectations" remix
October 18Oct 18 I'm wondering whether there will be some vinyl to appear out of nowhere in favour of "Patient Zero" or not. As far as I'm aware, in the latest Music Week reports, there has been only an indication of CDs (as physicals), not vinyl, hence my doubt, unless they were restricted to the US, which I highly doubt.

Originally released in June as part of Olivia’s chart-topping album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, the Californian star recruited Chappell to give expectations its standout moment. This also marks the first taste of new music from Chappell in 2026. Can her comeback with Olivia yield a chart-topping single? Well, it’s not certain! Jamie Miller’s Babydoll is right on its tail, also looking to hit the summit for the first time (2). As is Canadian Tate McRae, finding her latest single Housewife currently situated at Number 3. We are in for a three-horse race, but who comes out on top? Following the release of their stunning new project Dopamine Chamber, Fontaines D.C. could see three tracks from the record inside the Top 40 this week. These include Marianne, which is on for a new peak (8), Six Shot Morning (9) and Mimesis (11). Country sensation Zach Bryan is also on for a similar achievement. Lies featuring Lana Del Rey (10), Lodi When (21) and Robot Killed The Working Man (34) may all enter the main standings after the American dropped the emotionally charged EP, Young Manhood and Other Donatable Organs. Elsewhere, Madonna and Kylie link-up on Love Sensation looks to re-enter proceedings (15), following the release of a special two-track vinyl including the Afterhours mix and radio edit. KETTAMA, Prospa and Rohan Pinnock-Hamilton's Think of You is tracking for a Top 40 placement (18), while the latest tune off the GTA VI soundtrack Flower In A Hurricane from French electronic duo Justice featuring Tame Impala and SZA, finds itself at Number 26 in this latest update.
October 18Oct 18 Based on the OCC article, it's clear that they shaded King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard when the BBC Radio 1 playlist came out, lol! 🫠

Took things like this for granted in the pre-streaming era.
October 18Oct 18 The occ insta post credits both Olivia and Chappell so hopefully it’s a good indicator that Chappell will be credited

October 18Oct 18 It’ll be interesting to see if any vinyls come in for Taylor and how much. I feel like Olivia/Chappel have a good chance of holding on unless the streams drop off a lot during the week. Hope Lana can hold for a top 10, I feel like this one might be a slow burn though. Nice to see a lot of new entries though.
October 18Oct 18 Rooting for Olivia and Chappell! ❤️Wouldn't be mad at any of the contenders taking it this week though, still hoping Ashe may be able to sneak a week in at some point

October 19Oct 19 Really hope Rachel Chinouriri’s album does well, she seemed to be on a massive upward trajectory since her debut but it feels slightly flat now the album release is here. It’s a great album and she is doing the usual promo trail (album shows, personally signed etc.,) so hopefully that gives it a good boost.
October 19Oct 19 Blimey, an actually big week for new releases in the top 40 in 2026. We had to wait until late October
October 19Oct 19 Just on the point re About You Now climbing #35 to #1 due to the physical release, why did labels ever think that was a good strategy? As someone already mentioned you’d think they would want maximum sales.
