October 6, 201312 yr I have never heard a song which sounds less like a number 1 than that Vamps track.....!
October 6, 201312 yr Anyone knows what happens to Katy Perry - Walking On Air? It hasn't appeared in the mids at all and looks like it won't enter the chart? Is it disqualified? Have they introduced a quality rule?

La La La (My Nu Leng Remix) Biography Producer Shahid Khan, aka Naughty Boy, pursued music seriously after he dropped out of university and worked a number of unsatisfying jobs. He debuted in 2006 with the single "Phat Beach (I'll Be Ready)," but his first major work was his songwriting and production for Chipmunk's "Diamond Rings," a playful ska-rooted single that featured a pre-fame Emeli Sandé and reached the Top Ten in his native U.K. in 2009. The next year was bigger, highlighted by productions for Professor Green, Tinie Tempah, and Wiley (the Top Ten "Never Be Your Woman"), all of which involved Sandé. Khan then worked extensively on Sandé's breakthrough 2012 album Our Version of Events. That October, he released the solo single "Wonder," with Sandé returning the favor as the song's lead vocalist and co-songwriter. "La La La," featuring Sam Smith, was released in May 2013 and topped the U.K. chart, which set the stage for Hotel Cabana, Khan's debut album for Virgin. - iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): Naughty Boy 2010 08 Never Be Your Woman (Naughty Boy Presents Wiley feat. October 6, 201312 yr Have they introduced a quality rule? Haha, good one :D Actually it's not a bad song, very end of 80s disco :o
October 6, 201312 yr La La La  Fantastic chart run, hopefully can be a million seller over the next 6 months(?) or so!
October 6, 201312 yr I have never heard a song which sounds less like a number 1 than that Vamps track.....! Let me introduce you to Variation of Birds by The Knife then  (imagine if that actually went to #1 that'd be hilarious) Naughty Boy still top 40 :cheer: Summer is not over yet! October 6, 201312 yr 'Can We Dance' actually sounded okay from that clip. 'Counting Stars' still needs to be #1 though. I think 'Walking On Air' will be top 40, there are 7 new entries and there were 6 on the Friday mids (The Vamps, Chase & Status, Dizzee Rascal, Nelly, Two Door Cinema Club and Fuse ODG). Strange it wasn't in the mids...
October 6, 201312 yr Have they introduced a quality rule? If they have, then The Vamps won't be charting today then :P Hopefully Daft Punk will get another week Top 40 :D
October 6, 201312 yr Last week for the lovely La La La, but 20 weeks top 40 is amazing for a dance track.

October 6, 201312 yr It's sad to see La La La at #40. Might be its last week ever in the top 40. :( The song is really a masterpiece, and a song I'll listen to for the rest of my life. I should be happy though. I was expecting it to be spending like 7 or 8 weeks when it first got released. It's longevity still surprises me, since it's not the type of song that would normally have broad appeal. Edited October 6, 201312 yr by Eric_Blob
October 6, 201312 yr 39 (from 17) Birdy - Wings [D] http://a5.mzstatic.com/us/r30/Features4/v4/d5/b2/97/d5b2970a-e7a1-3d71-9032-a031b5d108bb/dj.dthjpkhy.170x170-75.jpg Chart Run: 16-17-39 [3 wks] Release date: 15-09-2013 Format: download only single Label: Warner Sales: 20k+ Video: WJTXDCh2YiA Biography English singer/pianist Jasmine van den Bogaerde, who goes by the stage name "Birdy," was born in 1996 in Lymington, Hampshire. Precocious from the very start, Bogaerde began composing her own songs at the age of seven, and by 12 had secured the top spot (out of 10,000 competitors) at 2008's Open Mic UK, a popular live music competition that rewards the winner with a recording contract. In January of 2011, she released her first single, a cover of American indie rock outfit Bon Iver's "Skinny Love," which peaked at number 17 on the U.K. pop charts. Her eponymous full-length debut, released through Atlantic Records, arrived later that November. The record was a huge success, particularly in Australia, Belgium, Holland and France, where it shot straight to number one in the chart, while it also reached the UK Top 20. The collection of stripped back arrangements was mostly compiled of indie artists, including The Postal Service and Fleet Foxes, whose songs were overhauled by Bogaerde's haunting voice and sparse production. The follow-up to her debut presented a new phase in Bogaerde's development as her sophomore album Fire Within displayed her own songwriting talent with 11 original tracks. The album was written with help from collaborators such as Ryan Tedder (Beyoncé, Leona Lewis), Dan Wilson (Adele, Taylor Swift) and Mumford & Sons pianist Ben Lovett and was slated for release in 2013. ~ James Christopher Monger & Scott Kerr, Rovi / iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): 2011 17 Skinny Love -1- 2011 50 Shelter -2- 2011 33 People Help The People -3- 2013 16 Wings -1- Discussion Thread Here
October 6, 201312 yr Let me introduce you to Variation of Birds by The Knife then  (imagine if that actually went to #1 that'd be hilarious) I have heard that (thanks to Pavel). I mean a song that is a real contender :P
October 6, 201312 yr Oops at the drop for Birdy although I expected a much bigger drop in her second week TBH (I guess the album release helped it hold up). Lucy Spraggan? Or is she a re-entry? Lucy is a re-entry but now you mention it it's possible they're counting that as a new entry.

Strange it wasn't in the mids... Maybe they're treating Lucy as a new entry, or Ylvis or Jasmine made the top 40. Or maybe you're right they have allowed Katy to chart after all.
