Biography

Known as Tity Boi in the Atlanta-based Playaz Circle, rapper 2 Chainz launched his solo career in 2007 while he was still a member of the crew, with the mixtape Me Against the World. The 2Pac references continued with his 2009 mixtapes Trap-A-Velli and All Ice on Me, but 2010's Me Against the World 2: Codeine Withdrawal hit his style on the nose with the last bit of its title, and when DJ Teknikz & DJ Frank White collected his best street tracks in 2011, the hard and hazy set of cuts was dubbed Codeine Cowboy. That same year he was featured on David Banner's "Yao Ming" and Big K.R.I.T.'s "Money on the Floor," while a year later he landed on Kanye West's "Mercy" as well as Nicki Minaj's "Beez in the Trap." He also signed with the Def Jam label in 2012 and released the single "No Lie" before dropping his official debut, Based on a T.R.U. Story. Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and Mike Posner were among the Grammy-nominated album's special guests, while production was handled by the likes of the-Dream and Drumma Boy. Biography

Mixing electronic polish with guitar-driven hooks à la Phoenix and the Postal Service, Bangor and Donaghadee, Northern Ireland's Two Door Cinema Club feature singer/guitarist/programmer Alex Trimble, guitarist/singer Sam Halliday, and bassist/singer Kevin Baird. Trimble and Halliday met in school, and met Baird through mutual friends. The trio began playing as Two Door Cinema Club in 2007 and skipped going to university to focus on the band. Fortunately, the gamble paid off — the band's debut EP, Four Words to Stand On, was released in January 2009 by the hip French label Kitsuné to positive reviews and music blog buzz, which grew with the release of April's single "Something Good Can Work." That summer, Two Door Cinema Club recorded their debut album in London's Eastcote Studios with Eliot James, which they mixed with producer Philippe Zdar in Paris that fall. The group's remixes of Phoenix's "Lasso" and Chew Lips' "Salt Air" also appeared that year, and by 2009's end, the group was among the acts featured in the BBC Sound of 2010 Poll. Another single, "Undercover Martyn," arrived in January 2010, shortly before the band's first full-length Tourist History was released. As soon as Jameela said "I can't believe this new entry.." I knew it'd be Two Door Cinema Club. :P Heard this earlier in the week, not too keen tbh - maybe it'll grow? It kinda reminds me of Owl City.

Two Door Cinema Club finally getting their first top 40 hit. Ridiculous that none of their previous singles made it, they're so consistently great. This one is growing quickly too although I still prefer most of their previous songs.

Really happy this made it :wub: Should obviously be like 30 places higher tho

 

Nice to see 2DCC finally have a top 40 hit. This is one of their better songs.

This TDCC track is like the return of The Lightning Seeds.

This mix just sounds bad, the instrumental is too loud during the choruses to overpower the vocals.

Really like this TDCC song on first listen, I doubt I'll like anything by them as much as I loved Caliban's Dream though, the lead singer was such a brilliant choice for that.
