I had no idea until now who Sufjan Stevens was! I thought he may have been a new artist this year, he's just notable to me for having a similar name to another singer. Apparently he has had seven other albums :o

Oh I thought they had a compilation album/re-release out for a moment there but that would actually involve them having their music back on-sale again!

I reckon Headie One will drop out of the top 3 on Friday and I reckon Savage Love might not return to the top 20. I also hope Wonder can sneak into the top 20

I thought Roisin would slump down today, so she should easily get her highest charting (solo) album to date?

Having its physical release on such a competitive week (and separated from what little first week downloads/streams it had) isn't helping it of course but this is still a pretty disappointing result for Sufjan's album compared to his last solo album entering at #6 with 11k sales. :(

The team behind this release are really doing well and giving its best chance of success and its working. Bon Jovi def starring at their lowest opening sale to date, they will just about do 10k and i thought they would as safe as houses for a 20k opening.

I think Lewis Capaldi is trying to get back into the top 10. He’s releasing 500 copies of the test pressing version of the album. Wouldn’t be surprised if he releases more if the 500 sell.

Can he not let others have their one moment to shine? How greedy of him! :nono:

Well at the moment where lots of albums' vinyl releases are getting pushed back, they might not have been able to sell more currently

Lewis still remaining top ten this week with all these new entries would be quite something

 

He may increase in sales week on week but I’m thinking he’s gonna drop out this week but he will end up returning back there at some point :lol:

Looking forward to seeing the increase in albums sales for the week with all the new entries, it’s just a pity that a few couldn’t sell well to make the top spots sales seem respectable to start the years busiest weeks off. With Pop Smoke at 9 and him usually selling 8-10k let’s hope a fair few pass the 10k sales mark.

Based on the increases from yesterday's update Bon Jovi might barely scrape 10k but I don't think anything else will (apart from the top 2 which already did obvz). I'd expect Pop Smoke will end up getting back to #3 by Friday.

Is there any chance that Van Helen could trouble the Top 10 in the albums chart? :mellow:

I don’t know what his gap to the Top 10 is, but he is probably already back in the Top 20 in the Tuesday update. Many of the new releases will be very tightly bunched and front loaded. With the streaming data lag he might still end up close to the Top 10 and then an extra 500 could make the difference.
