October 8, 20205 yr Looks like they are making more of the Lewis Capaldi CDs available after the first batch sold out in seconds, got to hand it to his team signed CDs for £5 - should keep him riding high in the charts for the next few weeks https://shop.lewiscapaldi.com/*/*/Signed-Di...sue/6QC00000000 Blackpink are having a similar flash sale, I just bought a box set for £12 and the cassette (which seems to be out of stock again) for £5 https://shopuk.blackpinkmusic.com/ Edited October 8, 20205 yr by Thom Hyphen Kay
October 8, 20205 yr Regardless of the artist I think it’s amazing that an act one, cares so much about the charts and two, is promoting the album outside of week 1. Far too often we see 2-38-76-out with the album never mentioned again so it’s nice to see someone actively promoting it so far into its shelf life, I wish others would try half as hard. I'm the same, it's harder to sell albums these days so it's good to see artists pushing and putting in the effort.
October 8, 20205 yr BLACKPINK No 2 now 5.3k behind Queen today. The slayage  The fact that this was number six in the first chart update and has climbed to number two despite being an album that pretty much everyone (including myself) would see as a front-loaded release is incredible. I would be elated if by some miracle they could close the 5k gap between them and Queen/Adam Lambert, but alas that isn’t going to happen. Still so excited for the girls regardless :cheer: Question: when was the last time a GG’s debut album entered the UK chart at a position as high as number two?
October 8, 20205 yr Question: when was the last time a GG’s debut album entered the UK chart at a position as high as number two? Pretty sure it was Girls Aloud's debut! :o I think Little Mix's debut was the only other to enter the Top 3.
October 8, 20205 yr The OCC says, It’s set to be a photo finish in this week’s Official Albums Chart race as Blackpink have surged overnight, significantly closing the gap on midweek race leaders Queen + Adam Lambert. With their current momentum, the South Korean girl group are likely to be in for a Top 2 finish with The Album when the Official Albums Chart is published tomorrow afternoon, up from Number 6 on Monday's Official Chart Update. Could they make it all the way at the final hour and become the first K-pop girl group to score a UK Number 1 album? Yesterday’s Official Chart sales flash saw the group trailing Queen + Adam Lambert’s Live Around The World by 8,000 chart sales, the gap has since narrowed overnight to 5,300. With more sales and streaming data expected to arrive in tonight and the K-pop quartet advancing strongly on both fronts, the late challenge means this week’s Official Albums Chart race will go down to the wire.
October 8, 20205 yr I'd be surprised if they closed a 5.3k gap in one day but their sales have clearly been accelerating throughout the week so who knows ~ it's been a really strong showing for them regardless especially considering 'Ice Cream' underperformed pretty badly.

I am sure the gap is even smaller when added streaming factor :cheer:
October 8, 20205 yr Can someone tell me since when streams of songs are included in the total sales of a song [not since when charts are calculated based on streams]? i mean lets say a song is platinum with no paid for sales included, that means it sold 600.000 only on streams, but streams from which year exactly?

October 8, 20205 yr Do they still estimate a Thursday streams when calculating the sales for the Friday charts?

October 8, 20205 yr Yeah I'm a bit undecided on where I stand with Lewis' tactics. On the one hand, it's a bit desperate and shameless and he's robbing someone else of a top ten place. But on the other hand, if he's got a chance at breaking the record for most weeks in the top ten then why shouldn't he go for it? I probably would. I didn't realise he was going for most weeks in top 10, I kinda get it now tbf.
October 8, 20205 yr I'm backing Queen and Adam Lambert for #1 personally. It would be the 10th #1 album for Queen and it's truly deserved for them as the show is incredible (I've seen it twice)... plus would be lovely for Adam Lambert to get a #1 album.
October 8, 20205 yr Lewis Capaldi signed CDs back in stock for £5 again - https://shop.lewiscapaldi.com/*/*/Signed-Di...sue/6QC00000000 Queen reduced on Amazon (£5.99 CD, £3.99 MP3), BlackPink as above - love the fact that the album charts is such a battle ground these days :P
