Only Jags I've known is the group from around 1979, sung Back Of My Hand.

Only Jags I've known is that nickname for John Prescott.

I wonder is it a Scottish term since Silas is from Scotland?

Oops! Now that really is a complete fail, the EU have basically voided their contract there haven't they ?

What happens if the contract gets voided? This doesn't look very good for the EU.

It doesn't look great.

It's the kind of incompetence that I'd expect OUR government to be capable of.. I'm sure it is the reason they are backing down on the invoking of Article 16 (NI Protocol). That and they've united the whole of Ireland against them.

I've just Googled it, it is indeed Scottish (e.g. jaggy thistle, i.e. sharp) lol

Over 400,000 people vaccinated today. I'm interested to see how high the numbers will be over the next few days. Until the snow disruption it looked like they were going to reach 500-600,000 people being vaccinated daily. But in saying that there's the potential for disruptive snow once again on Saturday and Sunday.

~488k today. Almost 8.5 million people have now had their first dose of a vaccine.

It's very impressive. I think we will miss the mid-Feb target but we won't be too far behind hopefully.

To be fair, his hair isn't that important. I've a feeling Eurovision will bite the dust too.

Eurovision can be held without a live audience. The main reason they didn't do that last year was the insurance. If they had held it without an audience, the insurers would have argued that it was broadly the same event so there were no grounds for a claim. This year, they will have been able to negotiate a policy that specifically includes provision for an even with no live audience.

They could just have loads of people on videocam shown on a massive screen.

Perth, Peel, and the whole South West region of Western Australia are being put into our first total full lockdown from 6pm tonight after Premier Mark McGowan announced a security guard working in a quarantine hotel containing people who tested positive to the UK and South African strains of COVID-19 tested positive a few days ago. Lockdown lasts from 6pm tonight to 6pm Friday, masks are mandatory at all times (which was never mandatory here before) and we are only allowed to leave our homes for work/study, essential shopping, 1hr exercise per day, or for medical reasons. Schools, day cares etc are all closed as well as pubs and restaurants which can only open for takeaway however many so far have already announced they will not be opening whatsoever

Announced at 12:30pm and people are immediately panic buying, many supermarkets have had to close early today because of being stupidly overwhelmed despite the fact they will still be open as normal through the week

ITV has cancelled this year's Britain's Got Talent. :(

It's a blessing really and honestly, who cares? Far more important things to be dealing with Anyway.

What? Jags is a term my parents have used and that I've also used more or less until this year when I've started saying vaccine a lot more.

I guess it also depends what you define as 'mid-Feb'. It's not exactly a definitive date so they could spin it to say they've met their target regardless of which actual day they reach 15m.

The government are still saying they are on course to hit the target date of 15 Feb. If they miss it by a few days, that will be a relatively minor issue.
Cases are plummeting so fast. :o I genuinely think we could be below 10K daily cases at the end of February. It's amazing how quickly they're falling.

What a contrast it is having the NHS in charge — imagine if they had been given more money and responsibilities from the beginning, rather than billions wasted to crony companies with little to no experience.
