Have Ladbaby done 12k of streams already or are there some CDs in that total? (moot point really, all I'm interested in is how far it'll fall next week)

I hope Chris Rea stays ahead of Elton John and can overtake another 3 songs next week - the two 1-week wonders should be a given, but I feel like he'll stall at #11 once again.

Richard Osman is interested on this battle as well according to his Twitter this week!

Those album sales in whats should be ‘peak week’ for physical gifting - less than 4k for the #5 :drama:
Looks like Ladby has it in the bag sadly. Adele may do similar numbers this week which is pretty good I guess. Was the greatest showman the last album to spend five straight weeks at no1?
Album sales are very disappointing for the week that it is, hopefully they pick up throughout the week, i was hoping Adele could be double platinum by the end of this week but based on those sales she will fall short.

It was.

Pity ‘Little Things’ by Abba is falling this week!

what are those 12K from Ladbaby that are not downloads? cannot be streams

and there was a physical but super limited I though?

Why do people keep saying this  I really don’t know who would give a CD as a gift now? It’s not 2004, even cars don’t have CD players now.

The casual sale is dead and buried. CD’s are bought purely by fans and collectors (Adele being the slight exception)

Vinyl is making a splash with the younger crowd, but it’s still a niche market at the moment.

There are fewer shoppers out and about due to the sharp rise with the Omicron variant so it isn’t that surprising we aren’t getting huge numbers now. Will see if fewer people going to shops boosts online sales, but they would be cutting it fine with delivery delays.

As others have said, the market just isn’t what it used to be either so a CD isn’t a big gift these days.

This talk is making me want to buy a CD player! (I got rid of a lot of 💿 this year but kept specific ones/special editions)

haha I actually bought recently an external drive that I can attach to my computer and play CDs :)

I might do the same. I switched cars recently and didn’t think the new car wouldn’t have a player!

I would think more and more physical copies are sold online, because there are fewer and fewer record stores, and thus last week was probably the biggest sales week because people wanted to make sure they got their order in time.

Have a Word Pod not even top 40!!
