Done my first listen through of SF2 qualifiers and that semi definitely has the better set of songs

I'm so happy to have made the final again!🤩 Especially now, because after my cheap ass entry got vetoed (although I didn't think it would be), I felt like I should send something inspired, but at the same time a bit of a risk. I just love "Not a Dream", that voice gives me the chills! I figured if I were to end my incredible Q streak record, I'd much rather do it with something special, so that I would still feel really good about what represented me. There have been too many entries in the past (although many years ago now) I admit where I sent something I liked, but not loved, and was probably more inclined to send it because I thought others would like it more than I personally did. And more often than not it didn't resonate with people. Go figure! These past few years, though, and especially from the year where I sent exclusively Japanese or Korean songs (2022), I've grown more confident in my own tastes. So, when I send something I truly appreciate, I do it with a sense of pride. Which means I keep my head held high if I DNQ, and if someone else really enjoys my entry too, it becomes so so so much more rewarding!

I am sooooo conflicted on how to vote. I have three 18-worthy songs I knew and loved already pre-contest, and three 18-worthy songs I’ve discovered by hosting. Normally I don’t listen as much as I have been as a host so I’m still more familiar with the ones I knew before but these newbies are rivalling the oldies. Yet giving some of them only 10 points feels SO wrong. Damn, this is high quality.

I feel the same. I have a few pre-contest songs that I love, but I always like to give my top points to discoveries. Conflicted

Is there a listenthrough planned for the final next week? 🌚

It's as I said before, people go wild for Ajanaeda as host! They want to bring their A-game!

This has been quite an exceptional contest I might add in more ways than one, and from a personal point of view I feel I have no place being amongst these finalists! 😄

It was more poppy and less experimental this time for sure.

Still, the quality is indeed higher than usual which is surprising. If semi 2, the ‘alt semi’, has the same effect then we’re looking at one of the best contests in at least the last 5 years of on and off participation for me. 💓
