Well done Scene and Avril - I don't think I'd ever really noticed before this year that the forum had so many fans of Avril, but she's consistently done well in the various rates etc and now this confirms her as a Buzzjack fave!

Well done Rollo on getting PSBs to second. They absolutely are pop royalty, and arguably have one of the strongest back catalogues of any pop act, so I don't entirely think it is surprising that they did so well - but it also wasn't a foregone conclusion either

Thanks Calum for putting so much effort into this and getting every round started so promptly. I don't often look at the pop forum so it was great taking part in the event and getting as far as the final.

Massive congratulations to @Scene on the win, you played the game so brilliantly with Avril and although you had me sweating thinking Avril was done over with that choice at the end there, she pulled through I'll be in touch with you soon with the prize!!

@King Rollo also deserves a heap of praise for Pet Shop Boys getting to second place! I wouldn't have called that at the beginning, and (unlike a-ha ) I've had some great discoveries over the rounds with their music when I otherwise wouldn't really give them the time of day. @Addy! did brilliantly with Christina too and managed to recover well with some choices that saw him in danger. And I'm ngl I was kinda rooting against Xtina in the final to save having to worry about how to convert the prize into USD for you !!!

I honestly really didn't expect there to be so much interest in this or for it to take off the way it has, so thank you so much to everybody for all of your involvement, enthusiasm and support.

@Tafty has been an amazing support of everything to do with this behind the scenes, and has so many great ideas for where we can take it from here.

Well done @Scene and @King Rollo, an excellent top 2 in the end - and wow Avril actually winning both parts of the final vote, even with the album track. PSB so close to blocking Xtina from a top 2 spot in the first part as well!

This has been good fun to take part in and follow along with so thanks @Calum for the concept and hosting :3 Assuming there will be a second edition of this some time (don't see why not when this has been such a success x) I'll try to stick at least a little closer to the 'pop' part of the concept, I did only really jump into this at the last minute on a whim and thought I'd have some fun introducing some James Blake tracks to a potentially unfamiliar audience, but I did genuinely try to make an effort to pick at least a handful of songs from him that I thought might provide some good discoveries for people here if they listen with an open mind (I admittedly fell back on just hoping niche votes would suffice when I sent 'The Wilhelm Scream' lol but all the others were good faith attempts at crossover appeal!! I came very close to sending 'If The Car Beside You Moves Ahead' to troll the pop hoes in the Golden Wagner round so be thankful I didn't do that if the songs I did send were hard to swallow )

and that your option if you're willing to taint your own creation with dodgy AI graphics xx I will spare you my ire as long as I can trust your writeups have actually been your own effort as I have enjoyed reading them x
