March 11Mar 11 At the time, I thought 'Kiss Kiss' was a rip off of the early 00s Eurovision sound at the time, so I didn't like it as much as other dance-pop songs of the time like 'Sweet Dreams My LA Ex'.
March 11Mar 11 "Kiss Kiss" is a BOP from the wrong person - I guess this would be much higher rated if it would be by another person than Holly Valance. Nothing wrong with "So Yesterday" - I quite like it."Ladie's Night" is a quite lame cover version and deserves the last place in my opinion.
March 11Mar 11 'So Yesterday' is a bop, but she does have better!I gave KK my -1 because I couldn't justify rewarding her for the terrible, nasty and vile human she has become. I know it's "just an random rate on a forum" but the principal of it for me is still there. It's a shame coz I do genuinely like the song. I just don't want to give her any kind of clout ever anymore.
March 11Mar 11 Not too crazy on 'So Yesterday'. It's fine. I do really like 'Fly' from her though.'Kiss Kiss' is a major bop but I understand why it's pulled down i guess.
March 11Mar 11 Not that big a fan of So Yesterday.Kiss Kiss was kind of in a hard place. A fairly decent song by someone whose widely disliked by most of what would've been her fanbase.
March 11Mar 11 'Ladies Night' I enjoy to a point, but it's a fairly plain 00s pop cover really. It's like the musical equivalent of Matalan.I do like a bit of Hilary Duff, but I've never liked that song at all.Obviously Holly V can get firmly in the bin, but I do actually really like MWAH. 'Down Boy' and 'State of Mind' are better for me though.

March 12Mar 12 Author 20 Delta Goodrem - Born to Tryavg: 6.75👑 Pop Royalty: 11 (gooddelta), 10 (Paddington James, Billy., Tafty, Padamic_Tension, JosephStyles, Nina West)❌ Pop Flop: -1 (Dobbo), 3 (Julian_, Jade, lewistgreen)Holly Valance is neighboured by none other than Delta Goodrem in this rate, as her 'Born to Try' has pipped 'Kiss Kiss' to a top 20 position, with an average of 6.75.Aussie superstar Goodrem was signed to Sony Music at the tender age of 15 but her music career got off to a false start, as a single named 'I Don't Care' failed to set the charts alight. She later starred in Neighbours as aspiring singer Nina Tucker and interwove her own music into on-screen storylines, including a platform for 'Born to Try'. This later attempt at musical stardom was far more successful and 'Born to Try', taken from debut album Innocent Eyes, achieved a #3 peak in the U.K. singles chart - where it experienced enough longevity to place at #41 in the EOY chart for 2003 too. This low tempo track, all about taking chances, stuck out like a sore thumb on Pop Princesses with its piano pop sound in amongst many in-your-face inclusions. It was #16 on the track list.We had to make choices, be wrong or right... and this scoring was once again pretty divisive. Delta received top marks from none other than gooddelta but also got the lowest possible score from Dobbo. Perhaps she'll achieve a more flattering result at Eurovision after recently being announced as Australia's representative for 2026.
March 12Mar 12 I like it a lot, but she has many better for me. 'Lost Without You' would've gotten an easy 10!
March 12Mar 12 Delta <3 Must admit I hadn't realised this song was quite that unpopular with some. It's such a great ballad, and a song I fell in love with immediately at the time (after seeing Nina Tucker perform it on Neighbours!), with such powerful vocals, especially on the key change.Sure though, Lost Without You would have fit this album better, a big power ballad feels a bit out of place on here.
March 12Mar 12 I didn’t realise there was this much dislike for Born To Try. It’s by no means Delta’s best, but -1 seems harsh. Oh well.Agree that Lost Without You would’ve fitted on this better. It may have even got my 11.
March 12Mar 12 3/4 of the songs that I gave scores lower than 6 to are out already. I suspect the last of the 4 will be staying in quite a lot longer and quite possibly winning the entire thing. xThe Atomic Kitten song is not exactly unlistenable or anything but it's a pretty lame cover that sticks out as a bit of a cheap inclusion on the list so cannot argue with that coming last. I'm yet to hear a Hilary Duff song that I care for at all so I think she's probably just not for me. Delta's music also mostly hasn't interested me that much (her Eurovision one isn't bad though) and this song wasn't changing that, it's a pretty stock ballad. Obviously I get why some people rated 'Kiss Kiss' very lowly and that's valid but it is by a country mile the best actual song revealed so far, still a banger regardless of her leanings (and well it's a cover anyway so she doesn't exactly get much in the way of royalties from it I guess x).
March 12Mar 12 I’ve never enjoyed “Born To Try” - it’s a really ponderous chorus with no flow for me. I much prefer both “Lost Without You” and “Innocent Eyes” though, and I’ve enjoyed listening to some of her other work more than I expected.
March 12Mar 12 Hilary Duff inventing how lights work " If the light is off, then it isn't on" thank you for telling us all my queen  Kiss Kiss was a odd one to rank its ovbs a fave of the years due to being a certified bop but I did rank it slightly lower than I would normally do because of her current views which I do not support.Delta I only gave low (for my standards) score purely because her stuff a lot of newer to me even if I have been liking all I have been hearing.

Omg!!!—Btw it’s an absolute BEAUT of a song. This low placing is so undeserved </3
March 13Mar 13 Born To Try is the only song from the tracklist that I have zero recollection of from my childhood which put it at quite the disadvantage but even then I could barely make it till the end of the song. A very strange choice to include in an album full of uptempo bops.
March 14Mar 14 That Atomic Kitten 'Ladies Night' cover has aged like milk. They were clearly going through the motions at this point as they were repeating the same formula for the 3rd time. The lead single being a ballad or mid-tempo & then followed by a cover. 'Whole Again' their breakout hit and then followed by 'Eternal Flame' (yet another naff cover) to relaunch their debut album, it worked well for them though. Then for the second album 'Feels So Good' - 'It's OK' - a mid-tempo track (a solid one) and then 'The Tide Is High (Get The Feeling)' (one of their better covers) & album release. Again this worked out for them & plus it helped that the 'FSG' album was packed with gems. Finally we have 'If You Come To Me' (yet another slow plodder), but felt way too safe and then the very basic 'Ladies Night', the formula was stale by this point and it didn't help that their 3rd album was very weak and unmemorable. If they did this for a 4th time, it would have seen even further diminishing returns & can see why they split up.I know it's not the girls fault, it was down to the record label who just more 'Whole Again'.
